I certainly beg to differ there but we are all entitled to our opinions. My experience with DMT leaves me in absolutely no doubt it is much more than just a hallucinogen. Its ubiquity in nature puzzles me, its effects blow my mind. Its beyond my comprehension but the things i have experienced / seen on it and its lasting changes on me i cant begin to describe. It turned me from an athiest punk into a spiritual being. I am far from alone in experiencing that change either. Its the great unexplainable.fwiw i dont buy into all the spirit molecule crap, it's just a hallucinogen, nothing magic about it.
Ayahuasca needs the caapi vine. Having it with syrian rue is a completely different experience. I have done both and the vine adds elements that syrian rue does not. A recent trial found that that chemicals in the vine actually grow neurons in the brain. Let that sink in for a moment...hallucinogens are like the fast food version of spiritual experience, not to say they can't produce profound changes in a persons outlook on the world, just that taking people like terence mckenna and tim leary too seriously might taint the experience.
when I did the mimosa/syrian rue ayahuasca drink, it definately gave me the whole 'the universe loves me and is giving me a big hug' kind of awakenening but it wasn't as profound as other non drug related experiences i've had throughout my life.
it is definately an interesting drug though and I'd like to see more human trials similar to the recent ones that have been conducted with LSD and the brain imaging data.
We are all entitled to our beliefs.

Extremely pissed off. I was informed by my pc i needed the latest AMD graphics driver. So i installed it only for it to crash on me. Now i cant start my pc. The only fixes seem to involve starting in safe mode which i cant do. I fear my pc is completely fucked. I blame FUBAR.
Out of interest, do you consider yourself an atheist? Or do you see ideas of "spiritual liberation" to be possible (not necessarily referring to any particular belief system).
Is it a northern thing to call cigs tabs?
Never heard anyone use that term when living in south west and london
I'm agnostic (yeah i have comittment issues ;P ) but for sure, also into philosophy so absolutely agree ideas of 'spiritual liberation' arising in individuals are possible without any rigid belief system or adherence to a mainstream ideology....
Most of my ideas about the fundamental nature of reality arise from science but also from ontology and phenomenology, and of course profound drug experiences widen the scope for ideas to test or evaluate, they loosen the rigidity of a sober scientific approach so are basically a lubricant for thought.....
on a more serious note, IM GONNA GET FUCKING STONED TONIGHT.
