Devastated.

Today feels like a massive comedown, only the night before was watching a car crash on BBC for 6 hours without any pills.
 
The result of this referendum may just be a shining example of why direct democracy is a bad thing for our electorate.

Now they're trying to reverse the results of a bad exercise in direct democracy..with more direct democracy :D
 
they should be asking for a general election to be called since the government are now exposed as total incompetent morons, tax dodgers, pig fuckers etc...
 
What you need is a benevolent head of state to step in and over rule the unclean masses, who obviously can't be trusted to manage the country without fucking things up.

If you look at the raw data from those votes around only 380,000 are actually from the UK, the rest from outside the UK. Those who think that they are actually going to put in a serious debate about having another referendum are deluded, (was it Cameron who said he wanted a referendum, not a neverendum?) nothing like a bunch of sore losers is there? I wonder if Remain had won, would all the Leave voters be calling for a re vote, staging protests etc. So a minority of the UK are unhappy about losing in a democracy, how do you think the majority of voters feel every general election, where a minority vote can often see you in office? An actual referendum where your vote actually matters and everyones up in arms when the people of the UK have actually spoken 8(.

You lot will have finished sulking in a few days anyway hopefully, as its getting pretty tiresome.

Probably. Farage was calling for a second referendum early on in the count when the feeling was that Remain had just edged it. And, realistically, the fallout from leaving the EU is far more concerning than the fallout from... nothing changing. Whether you see the reaction as an overreaction or not you have to admit there is reason for people to be angry (the fact that two out of four nations (plus the capital city that never fails to remind the rest of is it powers our economy) voted to stay in, the fact that old folk voted out whilst the younger folk who atcually have to live with the consequences voted in, etc) and anxious (because any change on such a big scale is naturally unnerving for most people).

It's more likely they call an early election and one of the parties stand with the Brexit platform, thus proclaiming what ever mandate to proceed.

It would require boris taking up the Tory leadership and uniting the whole party to want to leave Europe so its a stretch by any means

I think this is a great point and one I was going to bring up myself. In a general election it can be hard to grasp how your individual vote affects the outcome because of our archaic system. People in this country simply aren't used to their vote truly counting which would at least partially account for the number of people who voted Leave and now apparently wish they hadn't. I have no doubt whatsoever that significant numbers of people voted Leave seeing it as a protest vote the same way they may vote Lib Dem in a general election just to kick the standing MP a bit.
