Well, no. Russia is in both Europe and Asia. Some may even say Eurasia. BUT. While only 25% of its land mass lays in Europe, some 78% of its population does (including major cities such as Moscow).

This may have something to do with why they are currently in the European Championships and play in the Euro stages of the World Cup.
