Discusion about neurotoxity of MDMA

I would say the main factor is more likely to be inhibiton of VMAT, but anyhow I do wonder about the role of 5-HTTLPR polymorphism in MDMA adverse effects seeing as the short form has been associated with increased adverse effects. I personally have the short form of the SERT gene and I've had severe issues with MDMA use from years ago and of course I wasn't perfect before MDMA. Regarding ASD (I'm pretty sure I'm on the spectrum) do you have any studies handy on SERT polymorphism and ASD?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4281265/

it mentions SERT Ala56 also which is one of the polymorphisms that codes for a much more functional SERT IIRC

There is more emerging evidence that ASD people have differently functioning serotonin and dopamine systems
