Intense CEV on MDMA

The other day I had a high dose of MDMA at a club although it didn't hit me until the club closed. I was sitting outside and I started to get very intense closed eye visuals on MDMA. When I closed my eyes I would shoot through different places, at one stage I was at a beach, a couple of seconds later I was on top of a snowy mountain, the next I was in a room full of patterns, it was very cool and so real that when I opened my eyes I would be confused where I was. I had no control of what I saw and because of how fast I would go from one place to another it was really hard to process everything, the best way I can explain it is it was like a fast slideshow. I then started going to dark places, one of them was in a dark space with a dark man with reptile skin staring at me, as I got closer to him I then opened my eyes to end it but when I closed my eyes again I would be somewhere else. I should note the MDMA was not tested (I know, I need to) but basically, I am curious if this has ever happened to anyone else? I also then went to the train station and a guy made a reptile remark and I was convinced he was the person I saw when I hallucinated but I thought he had changed his body and I was convinced I was the only person who could see him. My mind set was a lot like how it can be on LSD.

I've had similar CEVs as the ones you desribe. I haven't met the reptile man so far, but I've definitely experienced the room full of patterns while laying in My bed. I made sense of the weirdest stuff on high doses of MDMA. Ocassionally I even talk to myself

I had the same once, not just CEV but also real visuals. Actually, they might have been hallucinations. Because I definitely have seen things that weren't there. I remember seeing a painting change into a completely different painting which looked just as real as the previous one.

MDMA definitely has a psychadelic edge to it, no question. MDA even more so. Set, setting, tolerance, individual, etc will all play a role in the experience.

Seems like Op had a good roll.

:)

Look on the psychonaut wikis entry on MDMA. The drug can induce unique and intense halucinations. Falling asleep on a binge once I couldnt tell if my eyes were open or closed and I had a deep conversation with my childhood friend who I haven't talked to in a decade

wow fucking interesting :)

i fall asleep on MDMA or thought I did? unless I take some sort of stimulant with it. Convos with friends that weren't there?

The right hand isomer (r-MDMA) agonizes (activates) the 5HT2A receptor which is responsible for psychedelic effects.

Normally MDMA is a racemic mixture of r-MDMA and S-MDMA (s is much more CNS active -- responsible for the majority of releasing and reuptake blocking of serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine.)

However, at high doses, statistically speaking, there will be a lot more [TOTAL] of the r-isomer to affect those 5HT2A receptors -- voila CEVs, hallucinations; although some of the CEVs and hallucinations are probably caused by some of the metabolites (HMA HHMA HMMA) as PMA causes delirium and hallucinations.

Not to mention a percentage (your metabolism is the driver) of the MDMA is metabolized fairly quickly to MDA -- which is a psychedelic in it's own right -- and should become active 6-8 hours after dropping the MDMA and will last for up to 12.

Ive hallucinated some pretty crazy stuff on mdma (could have honestly been all/part mda tho) , after re dosing one night at home with my gf it hit me so hard i thought i was at a rave in detroit and was talking with people and dancing around....til i hit a wall and knocked a painting off lol.

I came back to the bedroom and my girl was talking with her best friend , who lives in a different state now and was most definitly not there :)

This type of hallucination (brain movies) is really common with this class of drugs, especially towards the comedown I find or on higher doses.

According to PiHKAL the effects of MMDA in particular were strongly focused around this 'brain movie' effect.

I have no idea how it actually works but the vibe I get from it is that your brain is very exhausted and you're kind of dreaming while awake. Either that or the brain state caused by MDMA at this point of your trip mimics the state of dreaming. I guess this might explain why so many people who have taken too much MDMA will often say stuff like 'is this a dream?', 'I can't tell if I'm dreaming this or not'.
