First time tramadol dosage for an incredibly opioid naive person?

Yo, LONG time lurker here, I'll try to keep this short;

So basically I want to try tramadol, but am unsure about what dosage to go with for the first time. I have before done codeine a few times in purple drank, so what dose exactly it was is unsure, but somewhere along the lines of 400mg. Felt great. Anyway, that's pretty much my entire opiate/opioid experience right there, and I haven't done codeine for about 2 months, so I don't think I have any tolerance to opiates/opioids at all. What would be a good dosage? Also, what would be the highest dosage I could do? Not that I'm planning to do a high dose from the first time, I like to start small and then slowly go higher, but it'd be good to know so I don't end up getting a seizure from a dose too high. I'm not going for nodding off neither.

Also; I have tried to find this info. I've been searching for days, but I can't find anyone asking with the around same amount of as/less experience than myself. I want to be very careful with all drugs after benzos biting me in the ass several times, so yeah. And if you want to argue that doing oxycodone, hydrocodone etc is more worth it, then you're most likely right, but I'd like to see how weaker opioids are before going to stronger ones.

Thanks in advance for replies! :)

Welcome to Bluelight :)
We don't use swim, so please edit your post and basic dosage questions belong to Basic Drug Discussion.
I think something between 50-100mg should be a goodsstarting point.
Anything over 300mg can induce a seizure.

Thank you, and thanks for the reply! That's what I've seen around recommended to others with more experience and thought it'd be fine for me as well, but I'm scared shitless of dosing too high, since I've seen a handful of people OD on different substances and being rushed to the hospital at parties and stuff like that. Bad times.

I'll edit that, I just thought so since most posts I've seen did so. They're probably outdated though, thanks for the info. :)

50mg, tramadol is weird. I never needed to go beyond 50mg I think I did one time and it didn't really do more then 50mg did, but I never took it consecutively, my tolerance for hydrocodone is about 45mg, if that tells you anything.

That does definently sound weird. I've heard the effects of tramadol can stop increasing at everywhere from 50 to 200mg. It seems to only be able to get stronger to a certain extent.

I think I'd be good with 15mg of hydrocodone, but then again I've never tried anything more than (I think) low doses of codeine when it comes to opiates/opioids. I'll try 50mg and see how that goes.

Tramadol also is one of those drugs that works better when taken in intervals, as it's the metabolite that is the mu-opioid agonist.

So if you're planning on taking 100 mg for instance, you want to take 50 then another 50 about 45-60 minutes later

If you're planning on recreational use, keep in mind prescribed/"normal" starting dose is 50 mg, so if you're trying to take it recreationally you'd need a little more. Not too much--as seizures have a low threshold (400 mg, though IME I never had one)

Based on that i would take 100 to 150 mg, but start with 50 and dose an additional 50 after 30-60 minutes and if that's not enough follow up 30-60 minutes later with another 50 mg. That way you get the stacking effect.

This. I never have found tramadol to be recreational because I've always had way too high of a tolerance (though maybe now it'd do something for me as I'm off subs and just taking kratom) but I used it for a little while to dampen my withdrawals when I was kicking a really bad dope habit. I can't say it helped much, but it seemed to work best when stacked.

I'm going to move this to BDD as it's a basic dosage question.

Thank you, this is some very useful information! I am planning on recreational use. I'll go for getting the stacking effect. :)

And thanks for moving it. Also I'm happy to hear that you kicked the dope habit.
