I've had problems with pain pills for a while. I'm clean right now but im about to relapse. Can I get prescribed suboxone before it happens or am I gonna have to relapse to get it. (In a fragile state of mind right now)

It really depends on the doctor. Technically you probably need to already be using opiates and many docs will even require a positive drug screen. At best you will likely have to be dishonest in order to get a prescription.

Why are you planning on relapsing?

Im in a really bad spot right now. I'm not happy with my life. The stress is really getting to me. I'm not nessicarily planning it, but I know it's going to happen.

Since you realize your weakness right now, try to harness it. Perhaps go for jogs and extra focus on healthy habits. Suboxone could lead to an addiction in itself. If you were addicted to pain pills, maybe kratom is an idea? You should also consider a therapist and/or psychiatrist to help with depression. Don't self destruct!

I would exhaust every avenue you have before getting on maintenance. If you do end up relapsing after trying very hard not to, then go for suboxone or methadone. Go easy on yourself my friend. It gets better.

just an other voice concurring with those opinoins above. Every time you go back in the ring with substances, it becomes a little harder to get back out.

Thank you guys. Much love <3. I couldnt pinpoint exactly what's making me depressed. My bf isn't helping. He doesn't take it seriously and tells me I'm being immature and need to grow up

If you have a history of chronic relapse then Suboxone may be for you - but honestly, if you're already clean I would just try to work on coping skills, and attending a meeting, or just talking to someone about it, it goes a long way.

I don't think there is any shame in realizing that maintenance is going to be your best option. Its a much better option than a full blown relapse that is for sure.

It would be unlikely as they drug test you before putting you on it etc but go and talk to someone about how you are feeling and see what they suggest. And like others have said, exhaust every avenue possible. Suboxone is better than relapsing of course but if you can take it a day at a time there may be other options for you. Best of luck
