What would you do?

You may want to look into another facility. Recovery isn't about being hassled. I'm dumbfounded those "professionals" think bugging you is beneficial to you. I only see how it benefit$ them.

Good luck on your recovery.

Thankyou!! He asked me on my second visit, said he's been waiting years for someone like me. I've told them no so hopefully that's it now, I would like to help people, but not at the cost of my family. Thankyou, it's been hard but still going!!

Anythingeverything this is exactly me!! But yeah I'm scared of a few things so have declined, I'm still being hassled at this moment. I wish they would leave me alone now!!
Fair enough too. You have ro do what's right for you. The opportunity might come up again when the timing is right :) best of luck with uour recovery x

I think they are trying to shed light on the fact that stereotypes of drug addicts are often wrong. People generally think of addicts as prostitutes or criminals. You are not. I think the doctor wants to change preconceived notions because many addicts that aren't on the streets or committing crimes think that going to rehab or asking for help may somehow be beneath them.

I still think it is a fool's errand to be asking someone two days in. If that person were to relapse then it would blow the idea away because you would more than likely be experiencing a lot of scrutiny after the paper was published.

I think it would cause more harm. Questionable that your doc would be for it. Concentrate on staying clean and don't add any stress it could cause

Exactly! I'm all for helping others, but two visits in was just too early. As time goes on I feel like I could help, but with my cravings still being so bad I don't think I'm ready to just yet.
