The first four you list under Melbourne are all Inner South Community Health sites. The big one in St Kilda is the Crisis Centre at 29 Grey St - it's open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

For west side peeps there is Health Works at 4-12 Buckley St Footscray 03 9362 8100. Like Inner Space, it also has drop in and health services for people who inject drugs.

Dandenong has SEADS at 84-88 Foster St 8792 2330

SHARPS in Frankston: 20 Young St 03 9781 1622

In Melb CBD you can access Foot Patrol - their hours are funny so I've cut and pasted from their website: Monday - Friday: 12:00pm - 3:15pm, 4:00pm - 6:45pm and 7:30pm - 10:45pm, Weekends: 12:00pm - 3:45pm and 7:30pm - 11:15pm, Public holidays: 12:00pm - 3:45pm and 7:30pm - 11:15pm. Free call 1800 700 102 or 0412 155 491 from a mobile.

Melbourne also has a number of car based outreach NSPs that operate from roughly 7pm-11pm. Best bet is to call Direct Line, state your location and they will tell you the appropriate one.

Dunno if this is helpful to anyone but ill post it anyway.

Liverpool hospital in sydney at the emergency entrance. Theres a 24 hour needle vending machine (dispenses fitpacks) completely free, as many as you want. Usually stocked but ln the rare occasions it's not you can go in and ask for a fitpack and they'll give you at least one, maybe a couple depending on supply. Again, all free, also very easy parking right in front of where the machine is. Very easy to get too, on Elizabeth St just off the Hume Highway.

Western suburbs VIC need

I'm in the western suburbs of Melbourne and am having a lot of trouble finding where I can get the needles I use in my size.
I have at the last few years bought all my own equipment through a medical supply shop, but as I ran out on Thursday, I wouldn't get delivery until Tuesday.
Their needles I'm looking for our nothing special, just plain old insulin syringes, but with a much shorter needle, being a girl with thin veins, thats all my body can handle.

I accessed all their needle exchange programs on Friday, in several suburbs but their needles only come into sizes and they are both too long for me.

I've had to use them anyway because I've had nothing else and my arms look as if I've been run over by the wheel of a truck, I've wasted hundreds of dollars in unusable gear and am now getting quite sick so have changed ROA.

Many pharmacies in the western suburbs I'm not so insulin syringes to the general public, I've tried calling several to see.

If anyone could please help me out with info or needles, Id be very grateful, although it doesn't seem like many people would use the ones I do, seeing as though the free exchange program don't supply them.

In which case, Anglicare at 18 Watchorn Street, Hobart has free equipment during opening hours, with cheap sterile water and tourniquets.

Uhh, it's possible I'm incorrect, im not a mod for AusDD. But it makes no sense to me that the price of clean needles and sterile water and such would not be allowed. Prices of drugs aren't allowed because it encourages sourcing and such. But government sanctioned needle, syringe, and sterile water providers aren't drugs, aren't illegal or even quasi legal (in Australia), and promote harm reduction.

I don't know for sure, but I'd be amazed if saying the prices of legally provided nsp services were against the rules. Hopefully one of the AusDD moderators can confirm. Such information can only serve to promote use of clean needles, which is known to reduce the spead of blood borne pathogens, which is exactly the point of bluelights mission of harm reduction.

Perhaps there is some misunderstanding going on.

Ultimately it's not for me to decide, but it's my personal opinion that prohibiting the prices of lawful harm reduction materials, provided its not in the form of spam, is totally at odds with bluelights mission.

SeveredPsyche, I can understand why the quoted passages in your previous post have jointly led to confusion. The conjunction of the two statements implies that it is okay to post links to sources for HR-related products, but not prices for those same products. This does not seem like a rational policy to me. In practice, we have generally allowed people to post both links and prices for HR-related products. (See this thread, for example.) When PsiloSubNaut edited the post you linked to, he must have been unaware of this. Thanks for bringing the issue to my attention, I will amend the relevant guideline with a note that HR-related products are an exception.
