Hooked on benzos

Hi, new here. I've been on benzos now for about 8yrs, get prescribed temazepam 30mg, but take any I can get my hands on .... Alprazolam, clonazepam, lorazepam etc. I never take more than one type of benzo in a 24 hour period. Right now I'm taking 3mgs of Xanax before bed, that works beautifully for me. But going to run out eventually, as always. Anyone have any experience getting off benzos, what the withdrawals are like and how awful is it? Will I ever sleep well again? I will consult my Dr when I'm ready to quit but I fear I will never be ready ...
 
You will sleep well again but you need to wean yourself off them. So start by lowering dosages. Also try some natural sedatives like loose leaf Chamomile herb tea. Try to avoid short chain sugars and stimulants such as caffeine and nicotine (as well as all others of course). Hope this helps. Good luck hon.
 
I just spent 3 days in the hospital after having 8 seizures after a 3 month alps binge. Like 5 plus mgs a day. Then I didn't eat any for two days and bam. I fucked up for sure but at least I know why they happened. Be careful man.

Welcome to blue light. I don't know much but from what I understand you need to do a slow tapper to avoid bad effects of benzo withdrawal. I'm fixing to quit a lil opiate habit and am thinking of using Xanax to help but from what I read and my very addictive personality and feindish use of everything lol I'm kind of afraid to not sure what to do lol. But if you do a slow tapper I think / hope you will be ok

If you have the option, talk to your Dr. about a slow tapper. Benzo WD is the worst.

Wow - that's terrible and sounds frightening. I hope you're ok and better - it's good of you to warn others of this.

Also in the name of HR, not eating to get high (heard quite often) can be dangerous as could lose vitamins and minerals and this can bring on seizers (Google it it's all there ;)
