I'm in college, going on a month long trip out of the country within a few months. The only problem is, I'm addicted to opiates. Now obviously I don't plan on taking heroin across borders...but I will need to do something. I'm on suboxone/subutex every day if I'm not on an opiate, but it's off the street and I shoot it. I also do quite a few other drugs on a daily basis but I'm pretty much just worried about physical withdrawals from opiates while I'm over seas, or trying to take it with me. Also knowing I'm not gonna be able to get rigs over scares me too. I'm more addicted to banging than anything else it feels like. But anyways, any advice on what i should do??
Ps. I'm a white middle class 21 y/o female if that helps
 
you have plenty of time to taper yourself down and kick before you go. That's really the only reasonable option you've got IMO....ask yourself would you rather be sick for a week in your own bed befroe you leave or be sick for a week in a foreign country? Cold copping in a foreign country would be a terrible idea with terrible consequences if you were caught by the law.

So I would get in trouble for a couple of suboxone strips with me?? They're so tiny I could hide them literally anywhere. I leave in like 2 months I wouldn't say that's plenty of time and I can't afford to go to a clinic without my family knowing.
 
If you get caught with subs clearing customs I do believe you would get in some kind of trouble. Granted subs would be easy to hide but is it worth the risk? Only you can answer that.

A quick sub taper (7-10 days) a week or two before you leave would be your best bet IMO.
 
There is no way you should believe you will be able to secure opiates in time in a foreign land to avoid being sick and once your sick you may find yourself inviting a bad situation out of being desperate. I would taper preferable deal with the pain as you are looking forward to a good time, good times demand sacrifice and struggle in some regard its best you get this out of the way so you dont ruin the trip.

Alternatively you could attempt to smuggle suboxone but if you get caught it wont be good either. If you wish to travel i would try to use that as motivation to stop, just imagine how much more easy/fun it will be.
 
Let me post again because I don't think I made myself clear...I have no intent on trying to find opiates once I'm in another country. All I'm asking is, do I have time to stop before the trip, or should I take sub (which my bf gets prescribed, NOT me and try to hide it on the plane) or should I try to get a prescription myself before I go...
