Heya, Folks 'n' Dolks of EADDland. It's that time again where we ask y'all to decide whether or not you have the time, energy & inclination to become a moderator of this forum we all like to think of as home. As most of you will now be aware, Scotch Mist recently stepped down from both the senior and local mod positions which leaves us here in EADD with a spot to fill.

Mr Mist was an outstanding member of staff and will surely remain and outstanding member so rest assured we are not looking for a replacement. Rather we are looking - as always - for somebody wishing to make their own mark on this forum we all love in their own way. We all know this is no easy task but anyone with a good basic knowledge and understanding of BL - and in particular EADD - and a reasonable amount of their time willing to give is invited to forward their application for the position of EADD Moderator to all current EADD staff.

What to include in your application? This is really up to you but telling us why you want the position, roughly what hours you can put in and any ideas you may have for anything you would like to encourage, bolster or change in terms of the way things are currently handled is certainly a good starter. Beyond that, we are all ears.

Just to remind older members and inform newer members, publicly suggesting members other than yourself is not encouraged. Whether you wish to suggest yourself - or mention whether or not you yourself have applied - is your own decision. All that really matters is the applications we receive for consideration so, if you are serious about the position, please don't forget to actually send the application before putting the world to rights in this thread as decisions are made purely on applications received.

I've considered doing it, and once really wanted to do it, but now I don't think I could keep up with it. I wish I had more time, but I also wish my heart was in it more.

If you like trying to control a room full of toddlers screaming & pissing in plant pots, it is actually quite rewarding. Kidding, mostly. :D

On the positive side, I think whoever applies will be joining a very esteemed mod team... that & you forgot to mention access to the all important nudie thread. <3

As anybody joining the modteam will soon (or indeed not so soon) realise, BL staff matters tend to run on BL Time. We usually allow a few weeks for apps with another couple of weeks for deliberations and formalities but - as noted - all of this runs on BL Time so is somewhat *ahem* flexible :o

Hypothetically, if I had done such I thing ... I would be glad it left a lasting impression, if maybe not the sort intended. Strictly hypothetically of course.
 
I'd just like to encourage anyone with a passion for this place to throw their hat in the ring.
If you have an issue with how EADD stands now, chuck us an application and we can improve this place as a team. :)

For all the shite rap the position of EADD Mod gets, I can honestly say it is absolutely fucking incredibly rewarding and the best thing I've done in a long while.
The good ship EADD launched her maiden voyage in many years past, she just needs a prod and a pull in the right direction every once in a while, and you guys know better than anyone the bearings that would carry us to more serene oceans. :)

If anyone is bothered about the time they can dedicate, my esteemed Shambolic colleague has already pointed out that the cogs of the Inner Circle (hoods and tridents are handed out upon coronation) run on "BL time" and so the job is a million miles from a 9/5, don't worry about that in the slightest.
If you need time off (be that a few days or a few weeks) then all that is asked is a quick heads-up in the Modthread or the dedicated Mod-holiday thread. We have no timetables or rotas, rather we simply give what we can when we can give it. Rest assured I will personally cover any period of time that any of the team is otherwise indisposed. :)

If nothing else can swing it for you: the embarrassingly un-sexy nigh-on-nude lab coat selfies that don't appear on EADD do actually reside in the staff pix forums you will soon have access to, and if you've ever wanted to see Mr Mod-Almighty (*cough* me, obvs *cough*) in crushed velvet corsetry and related articles: you'll see them all if you join the EADD Team. ;)

Haha, no I was never allowed near EADD - that was done by more sensible [ahaha] people.

I was very happy to do mod the New members forum and I met a good few really decent people through that and I definitely enjoyed it a lot
