Gibberings CCVI V. Give Me Back My Pain Syringe, You Dick!

Christ, we're about to have 5 days in a row above 40 degrees celsius here.
It is currently 38 and i just got back from a bike ride. Like an oven out there.
I know Britain/much of Europe suffers the other extreme through much of this part of the year, but fuuuuuuuck going outside in that!
I don't plan on leaving the house for the next few days, unless i have to.
February is the absolute worst season here.

The weather's that bad this morning I'm worried that my dog will inadvertently gain the power of flight when he goes for a piss...

Its about 35 here today. Hot enough for me to have the aircon on. Fuck 40+ days. You can keep those. I suggest cold beer. It works for me ;)

Trust me, this heat ain't pleasant.
I know the cold is awful too - but i'm a very fairskinned fucker, and the longer i get exposed to the sun, the higher my risk of skin cancer. About a month ago a whole town got burned to the ground in a bush fire a couple of hundred km south of here, and they had to cancel a huge international music festival a bit further south of there, because there was no safe road from the city i live in, to the site of the festival.
It's really unpleasantly hot. This heatwave that has just begun is expected to surpass all previous records...i suspect there will be casualties. Scary stuff.
But i realise i sound like i'm whinging from paradise to some of you guys. I'd trade this for sleet and rain in a minute (and chuck in a few of my lovely chunky buds while i'm at it, to sweeten the deal).
Some people love this heat. I'm no one of them unfortunately, haha.

Spacejunk if you are after a good book to read while you are sheltering from the heat go and get Howard Marks book Mr Smiley. Its about him getting into the mdma market after he was released from prison and everyone thought he had gone straight. Highly recommended.
 
Space Junk, that sounds awful. Come, hold my hand and move to Scotland. I think you'd like it much better! Plus you get the benefit of being near me, Koneko, Felix, soon to be Shambles and many other Eadders. C'mon, you know you want to!

I can't take the heat anymore. Growing up in Texas I was used to 40/45 degree heat, fuck that! I'm happy wearing a hoodie!

Sucks about that town though! GRIM! I do hope there weren't too many casualties. NONE would be a bonus!

"Drugs without the hot air" by the legendary Nutty professor is a fairly decent read. A little condescending at times and sometimes pretty vague but informative none the less.

Not saying it to make you feel bad - but (especially with my scandinavian heritage) the australian summer heat can be really fucking brutal. Deathly hot!

ooh! Thanks for the recommendation - i loved Mr Nice, and am always looking for a good read (which isn't hard in my line of work, ha ha)

My mate text me this morning recommending that i never listen to the shipping forecast in the grips of amphetamine psychosis.
