know this post was a week ago and I'm just a weird lurker with basically no posts, but this sounds fascinating. I've completed my masters in English lit a month or so ago and would be very interested to read what you have so far, would happily give any advice I come up with
 
I got married near Christmas..I also broke up with him another Christmas..I met my soul mate at another Christmas time. I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas time for so many reasons but i agree it's a good time to make more of an effort and catch up with friends and family (sometimes) too.

Fubar so so sorry to hear about your cat this may sound insensitive depending on how attached you were but there will be dozens of unwanted dogs and cats a few weeks after Christmas at all the local rescue places...Maybe too soon to think about getting one? Maybe not?

Who the fuck are these people that give animals as presents? I would say mostly it's a really bad idea...
 
I'm flying out of Bangkok in a few minutes to have a Christmas with my Irish family for the first time in six years. Kind of looking forward to it. I was supposed to have one night in Bangkok, but missed my flight yesterday so had a second;)

My wife and kids don't really do Christmas, so I just left a few gifts for the kids.

Been taking in the cultural attractions of lower sukhomvit. Nice.

Thailand is great, I've only been to Bangkok the once for a quick visit on the way to Koh Samui where I have been a few times now as really enjoy the vibe around the place.

Not sure where I'm off to next, trying to get something booked up for February but my dates seem to keep changing making booking early impossible.

One last day and I will have survived another retail Christmas! Don't think I want to do it for a ninth year next Christmas, need me a new profession :P

Saaaaaaaaannntaaaaa is coming! Fucking yes I have been a good girl and better be on that list :D Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
 
Always fucking hated Christmas , growing up in care ( wasn't much care , going on in the 70's ) it was the very distressing time. The staff was only working for for there own shitty perks and a wage. Didn't give two fucks about anything else.
Best Christmas I spent there was when no cunt wanted the Christmas shift, and the ones who drew the short straw and had to work , didn't bother turning up.
We decorated the place in sick from glue sniffing and downing bottles of thunderbird.

Now I've my own family we go above and beyond, although she's 10 now my daughters made me see the magic of it all, she's so exited she can't get her words out half the time, today me and her go and get the Mrs present , and she always manages to spot half a dozen things she forgot to add to her list.
I must admit to spoilling her and the Mrs don't like it , but she can what I didn't.
I now really Injoy Christmas thanks to my wonderful family .

Man! I'd love to but I've left too much to the last minute. Also, xmas eve is for the kids. We have hot chocolates and movies and music. Kind of a tradition. We do need to meet up though! Pint in Rufus's ?
 
It's a tradition in this house that every new years eve we get new jammies. I didn't get mine this year :( so last night my daughter tells me she's going out to buy me new jammies for tonight. She's such a lovely girl! SCORE! New jammies FTW! I gave her a tenner though I didn't want her to spend all her money. I'm pretty sure she can find something for a tenner or less. Pressie wrapping, house tidied and Christmas movies and music on the cards for tonight!

Just back from a few xmas drinks with friends. Only a few tonight after last nights shenanigans. Going to have an early night before driving down to Sydney to my sisters for xmas lunch. Haha, I don't even remember posting that! Lucky no plans were made.

Rufus, is that where you guys go? I walked past there the other day, funnily enough I've actually never been in it, I'm sure they owned a place in the west end for awhile that was a similar Rock bar.

If I'm in town these days I sometimes go to The State Bar or Sloans.
 
xmas eve food shopping all done, couple of cheeky lines of methylone for brunch, maybe a spliff later on.

Was going to visit my family for xmas eve but I think being there tomorrow and boxing day will be about as much as I can handle. Will be chillled out and good atmosphere tho. And I'll be mostly sober apart from some pregabalin.

Going to enjoy the rest of today faffing about on the computer, playing some games, maybe making some music.

Anyone here who has relied on the NHS over the years, I urge them to buy that single off itunes/google play / the link above explains it all. its only 99p and will show the country how important the NHS to all of us.
