EADD Film Recommendations v5 - TBC

@ Bear - Some horror that I love, probably more to add:

The Shining
The Exorcist
Evil Dead 1,2 & 3 (okay, more comedy)
The Dawn of the Dead (1978 version)
Ring (1998 Japanese version)
The Fly
The Thing (Jon Carpenter version)
The Wickerman (1973)
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Psycho
Alien (arguably a horror over sci-fi)
The Descent
28 Days Later

I don't think I have watched a horror while high on LSD actually, could be dangerous!

I absolutely love The Shining, the music in it really adds to the tension.
The Japanese Ring movie is far more superior than the US version & The Descent is great also.

^ Exactly. Just like there was no eighth season of Dexter.

I've just watched "The Dictator" - starring Sacha Baron Cohen of Ali G & Borat fame. It was fucking hilarious all the way through. :D

wow great selection and I have to say that I love them all. I have to say that Aliens was my favorite of the series (get away from her you bitch) but Alien was a very different movie. 28 days later still ranks as one of my all time fave horror movies with 'open waters' being a very close second (taps into my fear of open water and sharks) - I actually did think that I broke myself the night I watched 28 days on ket :D .

A lot of folk prefer Aliens over Alien, there is a lot more action and James Cameron certainly puts his mark on it; however, Alien for me is a superior film, it's more eerie and leans more towards horror.

The music in The Shining is creepy as hell, i love it too!

no need to include the date. there is only one. no remake. none at all.

:)

Haha, yeah, but I can't have anyone even remotely think I'd be interested in any other Wickerman.... you know, if they decided to make one with say, Nick Cage in it or something...

Did "Aliens" contain an alien chest-bursting scene?

No? Then your opinion is invalid. ;)

Alien contains the chest bursting scene and Alien is my favourite in the franchise, it also happens to be one of my favourite films of all time.

Just to be clear - that is ALIEN (First film directed by Ridley Scott). I take it you read my last post wrong...?

Perth, I used to go there every Easter and September weekend holiday with my family as a boy, nice place.

I'm currently living in Bearsden at my folks, not ideal, but it could be worse! I was brought up in Bearsden, lived in Maryhill for over 10 years before moving back in with the 'rents. I actually get a good deal for the dig money I pay to be honest, washing and ironing done, fridge stocked etc etc; however, 34 and at home feeling like a 16 year old... haha!

does not exist.

:)

Well look there are 2 films called the Wicker Man, thus it's only logical to put the year it was made in next to its title.

What do you mean "does not exist"? It seems to exist in some form or fashion.
