So here's my background: I'm 32 and had a bad addiction to oxy and opanas. I was getting 120 oxy 15s and 80 opana 20s a month and was snorting them all within 5 or 6 days. All started with a loratab from my pain management Dr. I had this addiction for a good 2 years but the last 6-8 months was when I was hitting hard on the opanas and oxys. I tried to get clean with subs once and did ok until I found an opana 40 and snorted it, I fell asleep and my wife had to do CPR, I was breathing 5 times a min. Needless to say I had a trip to the hospital and a reality check. This addiction cost me 2 really good jobs in the medical field. So I went to a new doc and got more subs. I've been on them for 4 months now. I was only taking a fourth of a strip, 2mg, for the last 2 months. Oh and I started at no more than a half. I taperes down to an 8th for a week then down to a half of an eighth, .5 mg for the last two days. I've been off subs for almost 4 days and actually feel really good. I have bouts of sneezing but its like 2 sneezes and it goes away, hard to sleep at night, restless legs. I'm taking dayquil during the day and I haven't had any hot flashes which is surprising. I've also tried to hit the gym as much as I can, haven't missed any work either. So how long before they are completely out of my system. Should I expect to have w/d soon or do you think I should be good to go?

Usually the withdrawals for subs start around day 3 to 3.5. Your tapper may have worked. If not then the symptoms may get progressively worse over the course of two weeks.

Suboxone has a half life of between 20 t0 73 hours with a mean of 37. Five times the half life gives us a good idea of when the substance has been eliminated from the body.

5x20=100 hours = 4 days
5x73=365 hours = 15 days
5x37=185 hours = 8 days

Then we can add four days to that to approximate the time we will see the light at the end of the first tunnel. Most people see it from 10 to 14 days.

If you start to go into worse withdrawals I would put a temp hold on the exercise as it can cause adrenal spikes and you will likely already be spiking.

You can do this!!!

Thanks so much for the information. Right now I just can't sleep. I can take as many night meds as I want and they dont work. Night time sucks bad. I'm hoping since I was only taking a small amount and only for about 4 months that I'll be ok

It sounds like you are going to withdraw a bit <3.. shit everyone pays the piper in the end. What you may go through is only temporary and at the journey's end is freedom.

You got this my good man.:D

Instead of dumping a bunch of junk that has no chance of making you sleep, but will certainly make you feel much worse.. please consider embracing the inability or severely reduced sleep.

You will feel much better on no sleep and no crap then you will on no sleep and a bunch of crap.

Here are a bunch of takes including my own on positive medications to treat the withdrawal.

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE< >here<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Your Personal Opiate Withdrawal Arsenal

Yeah you're right about that, everyone pays the Piper eventually. Today is day 4 and I feel fine this morning, when I get up I'm up, meds don't really bother me at all but I am going to stop taking them and just deal. Don't get me wrong I don't feel great at all but I don't feel terrible either. Definitely don't need a stool softener, had the shits for a week. Lol its all good tho, I'm done with taking that mess, no going back now!!!

The worst part about suboxone withdrawal for me was the duration. There isn't one moment of hell it just beat me down over time. In retrospect I think sleep is the key. I was awake for almost 2 weeks. It felt like a fucking eternity.

Well guys I'm on day 5 now and I'm doing good. Lack of sleep, rls and overall malaise is the worst part. No more sneezing or anything like that. I still have the shits too. I've worked everyday this week and went to gym a few times. I'm in my feet scrubbing heart caths all day so I'm staying active. I think that's probably helping. I just wish I'd stop having the diarrhea and could sleep at night. I mean day five I should be pretty much out of the woods right? I was never taking more than an 4th for a like 2 months then dropped down to an 8th for a week or two then down to a half of an 8th for a 2 or 3 days then stopped. Thoughts?

10 to 14 days is the show that subs put on.

Just hang in there<3 and please consider getting some of the medications that are listed above.

The gabapentin really works wonders for many people. I would use the max RLS dose from the tarascon pharmacopoeia. I would taper off if it in three or four weeks.

nice work on knocking out five days.. quite the accomplishment. In a handful of days you will feel much better. In under eight months you will feel amazing and once the opiate receptors regulate you will be free of any and all physical dependence which will have truely amazing results for you in so many ways.

Thanks so much for all of the encouragement. I still doing great, I'm also taking gabapentin every day and that helps. I got some flexeril yesterday and that seems to help too. Ain't skeeered lmao

It will be a while before you feel like your old self before using. You might want to work on the recovery aspect of it by going to groups, AA or NA so that you can talk about things that made you an addict, and how best to beat cravings and so on and so forth...

You are doing awesome my friend keep up the good work.
