Tramadol 150mg and Adderall XR, is this safe? Finding mixed search results. Plz help

I took an adderall that i got from my neighbor this morning because I got no sleep last night and thought it would be great to help me through this long work day. I took it when I clocked in at 7am my first time ever taking adderall or any upper/stimulant besides coffee with caffeine. It was an orange Adderall XR 20mg I took it at 7am and I assume it began working at 8am because thats when I felt it the most. Awesome drug I like the effects alot but I probably won't do it again. It definitely made todays AM shift in the kitchen I work in an amazing day at work.

I have three tramadol that i would like to take tomorrow whenever I wake up, 630am-ish. So about 24 full hours after ingesting the XR adderall. IS this dangerous? Will the adderalls effect be completely finished. I have a way to get hold of a benzo in a worse case scenario if that matters. But I want to dose the tramadol right before 7am so it can be in full effect by 830/9am. Last two times i did tramadol both at 150mg it took 2 hours to fully kick in on those days. Sorry if I sound like a loser, I just really want to take this tramadol tomorrow before work.

Background: Im a 23 year old male, in shape, do not take any medications if this matters as well. Hope someone can help me with a quick answer. thanks much

i wouldnt. that combo is more or less asking for a seizure. be safe. its not worth it. personally i have done it, but i was young and dumb and it wasnt worth the anxiety of wondering if a seizure was coming. will you get a seizure? probably not....but the chances are higher that you might.

Ok one more thing, do you happen to know how many hours adderall's residual effects are? I can not find it anywhere. It says that it clears from the blood in 24 hours so Im guessing that means 24 hours after drug peak, the drug no longer effects you?

I would only do that combo if I wanted to have a seizure , so please don't mix adderall and tramadol you feel won't feel good , and you will feel really weird .

Im going to go ahead and take the tramadol tomorrow. i think 24 hours is enough time between the two. After researching a bit theres no way adderall can affect my brain 24 hrs after i took it. will report results tmrw crossing fingers

Sorry if i offended by disregarding those guy's advice. I know they know tons more than i most likely and gave solid harm reductio advice. However I kind of wanted to see for myself. So at 630am this morning, 24 exact hours after taking 20mg Adderall XR, I took a 50mg tramadol and a pinch not even .25mg of a xanax bar. I broke a square and then less than half of that .5mg square.

It is now 8am and I definitely am feeling the 50mg tramadol very normal effects nothing strange definitely. I am not feeling the xanax, just as I intended. I just wanted it there to make me feel more secure even if just placebo lol. So I plan on taking the next two 50 mg tramadols at 9am, which will be well over 24 hours from the adderall XR yesterday morning. Im assuming those will kick in at around 11am, so the total dosage of 150mg tramadol will be taken at 9am and inside my system at 11am, about 29/30 hours after the adderall XR dose yesterday.

Given my current effects felt right now, would it be safe to say that Im good to go on the tramadol today? If anyone can answer while I have access to this computer that would be extremely appreciated I do value you guy's responses even though it may seem like you wasted your time responding. You didn't trust me and thanks. Hope someone can give me a yay or nay at this point. thanks much

Crisler, you didn't really offend much. Around here, we have heard plenty of stories of people having bad grand mal seizures. Some people get seizures because they liked taking real heavy doses, and other folks were completely normal, followed directions and had a seizure for absolutely no reason. Long story short, compared to real opiate/opioid pain medicine, Tramadol is garbage, IMO. Some people love it and can handle it. In a pinch, it's probably better then nothing at all. Both Adderall and Tramadol can lower the seizure threshold. That is why we are automatically concerned. The full 24 hours, probably helped a lot and the Xanax, definitely helped. If your going to keep using Tramadol, having Xanax and even taking Xanax with your Tramadol, isn't a bad idea. Keep posting man. Looking forward to hearing more from you. I agree fully with every poster so I need not (yet still will) say what all else said which is that both Tramadol and Adderall can cause seizures.

I have to add something though and apologize if I'm being offensive. Your end statement was false. "I do not take any medications". Perhaps you are not PRESCRIBED any medications but within the past 2 days you took someone else's medications in which you could've died.

Also, if you're in great shape? Keep it that way, friend. If you're having trouble sleeping at night? Go for a run or even just a brisk walk a few hours before bed. Just a thought. It always used to work for me until I said a comment much like yours which was that "Aderall is an awesome drug. You liked the effects but you probably won't do it again". In my case it wasn't Aderall that I said that about but that's besides the point. Many say that about many different drugs and guess what? I am sure you know that many end up doing them again and again and again or doing something you just did which was switching one thing for another (and only after a 24 hour period in which others gave you advise that is true...it may not have been safe).

All and all, I hope you sleep soundly tonight and are well rested for work tomorrow and give your body a break from taking anything at all

Hey guys just wanted to update and tell you the day today. I took 50mg of tramadol at 630am today, 24 hours after the adderall XR 20mg I took at 630 am yesterday. Feeling completely normal (as in what the tramadol was expected to feel like) I took 100mg more at 11am today. It is 4pm now and I feel fantastic, the normal tramadol effects I expected. Huge sense of happiness well being, no weird side effects, nothing strange. I think after all 150mg has fully taken effect for several hours now I can safely conclude that 24-30 hours is enough time between a 20mg XR dose of adderall in a non tolerant person and a 150mg tramadol dose the following day. No adverse effects absolutely none.

I can not speak for higher doses of either drug, I can not speak for the vice versa scenario (tramadol 24 hours before adderall XR), and I can confidently say that I will never try it again nor will I tell anyone to do this. But I am sharing my own experience and with myself, 24-30 hours between dosing of both drugs at said doses worked out perfect fine, there were no lingering ndri effects from the adderall XR that messed with tramadols snri effects or enzyme metabolism. It was a bad move but I do not regret it I had a really great day. I will be going the next 7-14 days without any more medications for sure just to make sure I am healthy. But thanks all who tuned in and I hope my results can be used as a trial/experiment for the results of what this specific scenario results.

I'm glad to hear you're ok. I, for one (and I know that nearly all other people on Bluelight would agree with me), think it's so scary when someone asks if it's either safe to mix or else take something or else they already did it and get worried and seek advise but then after numerous people comment the person just vanishes. Then posters are left to wonder if the person is ok. I've seen it happen quite a few times especially on the New Member Introduction forum. So anyway, I'm also happy to see that you're not like that and gave an update
