Gabapentinoids The Lyrica (Pregabalin) Mega Thread v 2.0

My friend gets these on concession for 6 bucks a box and I never heard of it before. She gets boxes of 56 caps of 300 mgs I believe. First time I started with 600mgs while drinking and it didn't too much just somewhat of a relaxant. Took a couple more and it just aided with the boozing process and made us a bit more wobbly and relaxed.

Next couple times I took it I decided to take a gram at once or 4 caps. Keep in mind we were drinking heavily as well. It come on slow but after a couple hours I was feeling really relaxed and lovey. Took another like 3-4 caps and I started getting eye wobbles, blurry vision, followed by in depth conversations and real touchy feely behaviour. We pretty much just kept taking them until my friend passed out but she cant handle her alcohol at all. Later on at its peak I got these bursts of energy and real rolly feelings where I just wanted to go walkies outside. So I went wandering around the streets while my friend was passed out listening to dance music. Keep in mind at this point I was probably up about 3-4 grams of it. Stayed up all night just smoking cigarettes and waiting for friend to wake. When she did we both went for another walk and she lost all her shit.(phone, wallet) When returned no problems sleeping but definitely woke up feeling groggy and slight slurs in my speech similar to how you feel when youve been binging on eccys. Erections were also a no go while on it couldnt feel anything down there.

For someone who can't get MD or ecstasy anymore these are the closest thing I've had to it by far with doses over 1 gram. For anyone with a tolerance or experience with ecstasy I'd recommend having at least 1gram at once. The more you take it the more you want though and thats why we eventually just emptied out the box after the 3rd or 4th time. Not bad for 6 bucks :)

The "spazzes" are bcos you've taken too much, as is falling asleep.

Vicoden is not that hard to withdraw from surely? If need be just buy codeine otc.

Better than a "real" seizure as opposed to a "mini seizure" as you call them. Hopefully you have parents to check on you.

Do be careful with this drug. Falling asleep? I don't think that's it. It's like a 0.5-1 second blackout. If I'm playing playstation my hands will shake violently for a second and I'll drop my controller. I recently got my refill and went through it again. Though this time the "blackout mini-seizures" became more and more pronounced as time progressed. Eventually leading to a much larger "blackout". The last thing I remember was I was playing playstation. Next thing I know, I'm outside my upstairs window on the roof of the house trying to get back inside. My right eye was busted up as well as multiple scrapes up and down my legs (I presume from stumbling and falling on the roof shingles). Busted my knee up pretty good too, it was bleeding pretty badly. No idea how much time had passed from the time I blacked out till I came to. I do know that the window had a large A/C unit in it so I had to climb out over that. I've been trying to go through my past broadcasts on Twitch to see if I can find the moment I "went on vacation". The other thing I dislike is the time between highs. After my 1-2 day high it's like the pills don't get me high at all. I can eat 60 of them and not feel anything. Guess I need to just chill for a few days. Maybe only take on the weekends.
 
Sixty lyrica? At any mg dose that is insane. What's your purpose now? Is it still the Vicodin or are you just trying to get high?

Tolerance will build rapidly, but also having a break will recapture that initial feeling.

anyone use this as an anti-seizure type drug? kinda like GABA was originally set out for?!

I am scripted 1600/MG GABA/day and wondering if he would ever bump it to Lyrica!? I dont even wanna ask cuz it look odd coming from a "junkie" but what do I care!? ha.

I doubt a lot of doctors would find it odd that somebody would want to switch from Gabapentin to Lyrica. In a doctor's eyes, Lyrica is still "the newer, better Gabapentin" so it would make perfect sense for someone who's already profiting from Gabapentin to ask for a drug that's supposed to be even more therapeutically valuable.
And even if you're a "junkie", cases of Lyrica abuse are few and far between compared to benzos (many patients actually find the drug unpleasantly impairing when they're first started on it, and to a regular user, they are nowhere near as pleasant as a benzo, even at extremely high doses).

Plus the drug has already gone generic (atleast where I live), so it likely wouldn't be a money/insurance issue either.
 
^agreed. Once lyrica beacame avail on the pbs & I learnt of it's values in opi wd, I just said to my GP my specialist suggested switching as I'd been on Gabapentin for yrs. No prob at all!

^^ What mg pregablin are you taking?

I remember one of the first times I got fucked up on it, and it VAGUELY matches your symptoms. I believe I took circa 700mg that time..yeah, my body was NOT used to that lol
 
If you are in the US get ready for sticker shock since there isn't a generic for at least a couple more years.
 
Hi I would like to relate my experience and see if anyone has any comments/info for me. I started taking Lyrica after being kicked off my Fentanyl patch for smoking pot with a drug contract. I didn't know that I would get kicked off, since I had told everyone in my Dr's office that I smoked. Anyway, I had horrible w/d's, because I was on 150mg Fentanyl every 72 hours and had to go straight turkey.

It lasted a few months, when in desperation I asked a family member if I could get some Lyrica to try. That family member said yes as they were in process of switching and had been reduced, plus had refills. So I started taking it and it was like BOOM!, suddenly all of my w/d symptoms were gone. I asked my Dr. to prescribe these for me, and the Dr. did. I was put on 600mg a day.

Then a month or two following that my Dr. decided that it was okay to put me back on the Fentanyl as it had been awhile and I had tried many different things and wasn't getting the help I needed. I was warned that if I failed another piss test I would never be able to get anything from them. I quit smoking pot that night after going home and applying my new patch. I was VERY happy to be back on the patch and quitting pot didn't bother me and it has been over a year and I don't miss it and haven't touched it since.

Anyway right before I had been put back on the patch I was on 300mg pills of the Lyrica but wanted to get switched to a different dose, say 750mg per day so that if I wanted to, I could take one less in case I didn't need the full 600. I wanted some ability to vary my dosage. So my Dr. either not paying attention or whatever actually prescribed me 900mg per day in this order= 3x150mg in a.m, 2x150mg in afternoon, and 1x150mg at night.

I've actually been okay at that level since, some days I need the full 900, usually the day that I am scheduled to change my patch, or the day before. I have many different medical issue's I am not going to describe them all because they are irrelevant to what I have come to say/report.

But for the past month or maybe 2 I've actually taken 7x150mg of the Lyrica per day, and with the Fentanyl obviously. I am getting to the point where I really want to start getting off the Lyrica. I don't have swelling of hands or feet, but I have ballooned in weight from 230 up to 350lbs. I have always been big, but when I was on the Fentanyl before I got kicked off for smoking I had started losing weight making my way from 420 max down to the 230 in like a year and a half.

Then being on the Lyrica, I just plumped right up again and it's all in my gut. I had problems with constipation before but now they are horrible, I've had to add an r/x for colace along with Polyethelyne Glycol (sp?). I have asthma but it's very light, but on the Lyrica, especially when I go to bed, I wheeze very lightly and when I wake I have tons of built up phlegm and sputum. I've also started getting sinus headaches, on or off the Lyrica. Then on top of that, my skin, especially my hands are dry as dust and constantly is peeling and bleeding. I also have a finger nail where the cuticle just fell off. This was over a month ago and it still hasn't grown back. So I am going to try and find a way to slowly taper myself off the Lyrica, and then I (hope), I will get one or two refills and give them to my wife for an occasional usage, because they do help some of the pain issues plus I sleep great.

I am sorry this is such a mess/sloppy, I've just been thinking about this for so long and wanted to get everything out before I forgot. So I guess tl/dr would be: off Fentanyl r/x'd Lyrica; raised dose to 900mg per day; put BACK on patch AND still with Lyrica but want to get off Lyrica because of some weird side effects.

Anyway if anyone has any advice or comments I welcome them. My body seems to crave the Lyrica in shorter time spans now, every 4-5 hours rather than 7-8, plus the sinus pain is unbearable.

im in the US but located in Boston and we have Mass Health around here; I seriously pay next to nothing for all my scripts. I get 56 bupe/mo for less than $2. I know we can talk price so I wont give the exact number but its less than $2, lol. all my other scripts I get filled for free. thank you, Mass Heaoth, and to all the mass residents paying those taxes so I can get free drugs.
 
Can I take 600mg codeine 500mg lyrica and 200mg tramadol without any seizures or anything bad happening I just wana get high .
i have a huge tolerqnce to codeine I can 600mg and not nodd , and tramadol is a stimulant on its own for me . And lyrica makes me feel so happy and sedated .
 
^Well in saying that you should be fine. Codiene has a ceiling effect,
Mixing tram also does. Adding lyrica I don't know, do you hsve experience here?

It sounds like quite a benign cocktail., but that is from an ongoing drug user. I don't know your exact circumstances ..

Well i do codeine everyday 600mg that's my ceiling affect , most people say that ceiling affect is between 400-450. But I know for a fact 600mg feels a lot stronger then 450mg .
i have done lyrica many times 500mg gives me a good high by itself . I am aware that if you take more then 400mg of tramadol you are at risk of a seizure . But the lyrica is good for preventing seizures ;) .

Beware anyone taking this stuff. I took it recretionally, and I am now addicted. I didn't take it daily, thinking it worked like a short acting benzo, but it stays in your system, and if you do it more than once a week, you are on the way to getting hooked.
I have permanent diarrhoea, and we are talking the kind that you do in your sleep, which isn't a very nice way to wake up at 6am
The headaches are terrible and not to mention the depression and anxiety.
I took it because I was sick of being in a bad mood, and i didn't feel like the sober life was working for me, because of my moods, so I self prescribed and now I am tied to them. If I miss a dose, i know about it.
If this post helps just one person change their mind about doing this drug, then it has helped someone.
 
my Dr. got back and didnt give me the GO to use; however, I did mention I lost my gaba (90 day supply) and he gave me an early refill, ha. he knows I am a junkie but still did it; he also knows my GF is currently living in CA and I told him I went to visit her and left all my meds there, so I got all my meds in advance, not just gaba, but the rest are nothing special, so oh well. at least I have an 90 day supply of gaba in advance to go along w/ my month and a half supply I still have left. I SHOULD be able to always be ahead of the game from here on!
 
does anyone know what I would be paying? I am located in MA and I have Mass Health - anyone else in the same boat? what is the script $$ here in the US!? below is what my Dr. wrote back - saying they'd DO IT but giving me a heads up and rather just scripting. they did give me a script for GABA and said if I have any complaints to let them know and they will make the switch.

but Lyrica is a much more expensive medication and insurance companies will often only cover it if patients "fail" treatment with gabapentin, meaning that they don't have any clinical benefit. If you felt like gabapentin wasn't working for you, we could potentially try switching, but it is possible that it would be more expensive, or that your insurance company would argue against paying for it.
