I am new here but have stalked for years and always read post but now im here to get a legit answer since everything I've read points to the answer being no it will not show up but when i ask other people in my field they say it will so here it is.

i see a pain doctor in NY and fill it in NY, now if i was to fill a script from a doctor in NY but filled it in NJ would i get flagged? will my regular pain doctor find out that i filled a script in NJ? Bottom line is does NY and NJ share prescription information? and again everything ive researched states NJ has no sharing with NY YET but it is soon to come.

thank you and anyone who knows about this please share because im losing it.

As far as I know since they're two separate states if there is a DOJ/DEA tracking system in place in either state I don't think it would show up on both databases. Your insurance if using insurance may track it though and show the location. The pharmacy might not fill it though as they usually consider someone filling a prescription far from the area where they live/were issued the script as suspicious.

Why would you need to get a script from NY filled in NJ?

there is a city in NY that is a bridge ride over and cost of it here is more then out there for one and a lot places here dont have it and plus NYS is a lot stricter. But i kind of wanted to know if anyone has done this and from people i spoke to they just said dont risk it which im not going to and just so you understood everything is cash but not a big deal i just wanted to do it already but not get in to stuff to much on the clearnet but its easy to get NYS id and just do some things to get them in that name... no need to go into it more but its dead unless someone comes in here saying they see 2 docs one in each state for the same thing because i cannot risk losing my main PM doc.

thanks for your input

Ah, okay. Yeah sounds like it's not worth the risk. I'm not certain but I think there might be a law about crossing state lines to get narcs or something to that extent. Definitely not worth losing a PM doc too. I remember my wife had a couple ER visits where she got scripts after a slip and fall that exasperated her condition not to mention a trip to the dentist for an extraction. PM doc was not happy and pharmacies wouldn't fill her regular monthly pain med scripts for a while.

IME I was prescribed xanax. I believe its Schedule IV. I got the prescription in florida while I was there. I went to go get it refilled in NY and I was unable to. I was told I needed to find a doctor to prescribe it in NY. I would be careful getting it filled anywhere else. Especially if it is scheduled. New York State is one of the strictest states when it comes to controlled prescriptions, which is funny because it is very liberal towards drug addicts.
