So pretty much my best friend has a problem, I'm a drug addict and if I can recognize it that is saying something. He started doing it regularly in May. He has tried it before than but for some reason in May he started and has gone all out since then like using 4 times a week. Or more. It's nothing for him to stay up for 2 or more days straight while working full time. He doesn't think it's as big as a problem as it really is.

He says things like I'm not addicted I'm just doing it to lose weight or I just do it to pass time. (Denial) he even started bringing his stuff to work and smoking it in hotel rooms (he does housekeeping at a casino) I'm really starting to get worried for him. He's broke alot and even has a child being born next month. Btw his girlfriend and family doesn't know about his addiction he hides it.

How do I try to get him to quit or at least slow down? I'll admit I use with him sometimes but I'm more into downers now a days. Please help any advice is appreciated.

Just really worried about my friend here. I tried to talk to him about it last night and he tried to say it's all my fault and we got into a big argument. He's in denial. Any other approaches I should try?

Well obviously I don't know the situation as I don't know this individual, but to me personally it doesn't really seem like the addiction has gotten THAT BAD yet. Staying up for two days is child's play on meth, that's standard behavior even among recreational users...I've seen people hit the pipe for weeks on end. Plus he manages to stay employed & retain a legitimate source of income so it seems that he's still somewhat functional (in addition to the fact that he also manages to hide his addiction from his friends/family)

He's got to genuinely want to quit in order to successfully quit. That's a cardinal rule of drug addiction. People have gone back to drugs after being fired from work, disowned by their families, suffering from health problems, incarcerated by the state, etc etc etc. All sorts of set-backs. If someone wants to use they will continue to use. All you can do IMO is offer your opinion as his friend & your support if he does in fact decide to stop using.

You mentioned he's broke a lot and has a baby coming soon. The necessities get expensive between clothes, formula, diapers, etc. Hopefully your friend will realize this more sooner than later and quit fucking around. Otherwise he's in for a rude awakening. Playing the blame game isn't too fair to you. I don't know what else you could say to him but I would stop getting high with the guy altogether so he can't throw that back at you.

Well he definitely stays up for longer than 2 days when he's not working I ment he usually crashes cuz he works a 8 hour shift then tweaks till the next day goes to work and repeat. But yeah he has kept his job but trust me if you seen him you would know how bad it is. Just 4 months ago he started this. Before than he rarely touched it and he's dropped from 290 to 225 pounds in that mean time.

If you don't mind me asking, how did he get turned on to meth? He will be busy with a baby coming soon. Maybe he is using due to stress. Regardless, you sound like a good friend and I hope he keeps it between the ditches.
