Ok so let me explain a little about my situation... I am a male schizophrenic and take 10mg Abilify (Only medication I take) and ever since I have been taking antipsychotics for my schizophrenia I have noticed the feeling of my orgasms greatly decreased (Probably because of the direct D2 antagonism among other receptors) I was wondering if any has an opinion or experience with taking antipsychotics and around 100mg-150mg Benadryl to increase there orgasms?

I also should mention I don't want a 2 min orgasm I would like it to be like before I was on antipsychotics so maybe I could take a little less then 100mg? Who knows...

The first thing to know here is that abillify is NOT a D2 antagonist, it is a D2 partial agnonist. ( See http://psychopharmacologyinstitute.com/antipsychotics/aripiprazole/mechanism-of-action-aripiprazole/ ). Diphenhyramine HCL (aka Benadryl) is an general agonist of dopamine, due to its H1 agonist receptor effects, and its general effects on acetylcholine. ( See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18363822 ). Therefore, When used together, Diphenhydramine HCL will potentiate Abilify, and make the effects stronger, and therefore will not be a solution to your problem.

Thanks for your response I appreciate it.

Could it be worth trying out though? Is it generally safe to take with antipsychotics or abilify in this case? (I couldn't find anything online about this)

Couldn't have said it better myself. If possible, if you know you're going to get some nookie, don't take your meds for a day. That's what I do. ALSO for any girls reading this.. don't try the Benadryl route. It will make things a little too dry down there.

Its safe to combine the two drugs, but the dose of abilify (which is considered an "atypical" anti-psychotic agent) would have to be titrated downward a bit, to account for the stronger effect, which may vary quite a bit from individual to individual, depending upon the exact state of the dopamine system before the Abillify, and ones sensitivity to the drug. It is relatively safe to combine diphenhydramine with the "typical" anti-psychotics (the old school ones like haloperidol (aka Hadol), etc. ) something which is sometimes done to counteract extrapyrimidal effects, such as parkinson's disease-like psymtoms (i.e. involuntary muscle twitching, etc.) which can be rare side effects of anti-psychotic agents, particularly with the "typical" variety. this is due to the fact that most of the typical agents are D2 antagonists which usually are also acetylcholine agonists.

If you don't mind me asking what medication and how much are you taking? I tried not taking a dose of my med for a day but it didn't do anything at all.
