Brain zaps while still on benzos...

Hello, I have been taking a cocktail of benzos since last year, and have stupidly ended up with a severe dependency.
Thing is, I've been suffering constant brain zaps on the 2mg Flubromazolam I have been taking, I slightly upped my dose to 3mg and the brain zaps are still there.

I take 5-htp daily to try and help with the brain zaps, and I also tried passion flower but nothing seems to work. I have them morning to night and they make me feel constantly kind of dizzy.

Does anyone know how I can deal with this? I'm not tapering or anything so I find it strange.

interesting never heard of the zaps while on benzos although common among SSRI's
hope someone can help you out bud

Me neither, I've googled it but I can't find anyone who isn't tapering who's experienced these zaps.
Thanks, me too! As brain zaps are never fun. :(

Does the 5-htp really help? That might be adding to your problem. It might be your brain telling you to lower our dosage.

The 5-HTP feels like it helps. I've only been taking it a couple of weeks so I could try cutting out the 5-htp and see if that is actually the root cause!

I would cut out the 5-HTP if I were you...too little is known about it's interactions.

I've experienced brain zaps from benzos before, and yeah it really sucks a lot. Your best bet is a slow taper, but if the brain zaps persist I'd recommend seeing a doctor about it.

I've cut out the 5-htp starting today and I'd only had a few brain zaps before taking my 2mg flubromazolam. So I think it is fair to say the 5-HTP has been reacting with the benzos. I am being prescribed 30mg Diazepam once they receive my bloods back and I've had an ECG. So I'll be doing a very slow taper within this next month (thank f*ck). It's far too hard imo to taper with flubromazolam as the dosages are tiny but potent.

Thank you for your replies!

Okay so cutting out 5-HTP didn't work. Neither has upping my dose significantly. I can feel the effects of the flubro but the brain zaps are still there.
It's kind of freaking me out I've been on a steady dose of flubromazolam for a few months now and this has never happened.
My brain chemistry is fucked. :( What can I do? Feeling a little helpless...

taper off and do it slow if thats not an option ride it out it wont get better over night but things will eventually improve

But the benzos aren't even working. I took the rest of them 30+ last night and was still fine, but still suffering brain zaps.
I'm off to the docs tonight they reckon they might be able to forward my Valium script.

Oh my goodness I have been trying to explain this to my dr who thinks I'm nuts! I called it the same thing brain zaps. It happens to me like when I move my eyes around its horrible. I thought it was from the antidepressant Viibryd I was taking so I switched to a med I used with no prob b4. Wtf! It's still happening. I take xanex to never thought it was from that. I wonder what it is. It's nice to know I'm not completely nuts. Maybe someone else could help us. Do you take any other scripts like for ur heart?
