Well I did my last pill yesterday about this time and I just woke up for my first full day sober in a long time. I've got a couple small pieces of sub, 2 adderall, and one .25 xanax. I'm about to take an adderall and a piece of sub to try to get through the work day. Idk how I am going to do it but I'm finally going to get clean. I need all the support I can get as other than people I buy from and one guy I do pills with no one else knows how bad off I am.

Hey panda - welcome. I'm new to the forum but am very good friends with recovery and addiction. Congratulations on making the decision to get sober!!

Browse the threads on what medications and drugs to take during opiate withdrawal. Dextromethorphan (in cough syrups), in dosages recommended on the battle, helped myself and other people. Loperamide (immodium), also seems to help immensely. The physical stuff sucks, but you'll get through it. The danger is post acute withdrawal, or PAWS. This is where you are no longer going through withdrawal, but you have depression, strong cravings, and don't feel like yourself. It can last quite a while so you need a solid plan to get through it. If you don't exercise or work out, start. It doesn't matter what kind of shape you're in, just do it. If you can't do much, start taking walks. Do not take this advice with a grain of salt. Doesn't matter if you think its silly or stupid, just do it anyway. Every recovering addict will tell you this actually works, its no joke.

Please consider going to some kind of group therapy, such as SMART or NA / AA. You said you "need all the support I can get", so this is why I'm being pro meetings. I would be happy to give you more information on either via PM if you don't want to chat about it in public. I could not do 12-step format so I joined SMART recovery, which has addicts, alcoholics, junkies, gamblers, everything, and takes a cognitive approach to addiction recovery, whereas AA is more about spiritual awakening. Both are not for everyone.

Keep posting here. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just think about what you're working towards; the return of your emotions, feeling healthier, more money in your pocket, no more high risk behavior, not a slave to a pill!

You can do this

Thanks for the advise. I work construction so I get a pretty good work out everyday. I've already called two of my dealers this morning and regret it. Hopefully they're out or won't call me back.

Panda - you need to be ready to quit, you have to want it. Unfortunately there is no magic pill to cure addiction, and there is nothing anyone in this forum can say to make you stop. Only you can do that.

With that said, it doesn't matter if they call you back or not - just don't take the call if they do. If you want to do this, you already have a head start and we on this forum and people everywhere are here to help. If you stay sober, you'll have the weekend to recover and by Monday you'll be through the worst of the acute stuff. Try to stick with it - do not pick up.

Edit: if you picked up because the withdrawal symptoms are getting too much or overwhelming, go to a drug store right now and buy immodium. Start with 10mg. You will get some relief.

Would it be a better idea for me to taper my dose down some before I commit to this 100%

I know a taper would be hard for me to do because I don't feel anything if I don't do atleast 20 mg in a sitting. But I'm thinking I could get two more pills and do a taper over the weekend. Only thing is all next week would be terrible and Its already been 30 hours since I last did a line.

I just gave up a similar opana habit (seriously, FUCK opana), my man. I feel your pain. Can u get ahold of a sub and do a SHORT taper? I'm on day 7 no sub and day 16 no pans myself and will tell u that, YOU CAN DO THIS TOO. Good luck my man and erase those numbers, have someone lock you out of your cell phone provider online account and maybe even change your number (I did all of this haha). Anything that will help u not give in.

I've got enough sub to take a piece about the size of my pinky nail for probably 3 or 4 days and I feel like I can get a another strip if need be. I've just heard the withdrawals from the sub will last longer and be more intense than the opana wd.

Damn. This super hot super cool chick I've been trying to date for at least two years now just invited me to her beach house this weekend. I hope I'm feeling better by fri night so I can go and have a good time with her. Only thing that sucks is it takes nothing for me to "climax" sexually when I'm not on opana. It would suck to get lucky this weekend and only last about 30 seconds. hahahaha

Do a quick taper, man. And get rid of those numbers if at all possible. Do everything to can to make it hard to use.

How long were u dabbling with pans? I'm wondering if you'll escape with a mellow WD like the one I'm going thru.

About a year of usage

Me too, buddy. At my worst I was up to 80 a day and at best down to 15. I think a quick taper off one sub would do you right. Like 8 days maybe. That's what I did and I'm on day 7 no sub feeling somewhat normal. I worked through the whole process as well without any major issues. On week of sub isn't gonna do anything but help you coast through acute pan WD painlessly followed by -- what I assume from experience -- will be a relatively easy overall WD. DO NOT GET ANY MORE PANS THO. Those things are so strong they'll suck you right back in. I'm speaking from experience.

I plan to post here -- my threads called "day 5 sub withdrawal" -- until I feel 100 percent. I'll post in your thread too to try to encourage u if you want. We're kinda good through the same thing I'm just a little ahead of u. Erase those dealers numbers tho, fuck those assholes, man. Get them outta your life.

I feel u, man. I've fucked up ALOT this most recent jaunt by saying I'm quitting then -- a week later -- getting the ol "I have pan 30s" text and flying over to grab "just one no big deal". That's why you really have to find a way to distance yourself from pill people. Erase numbers, change your number, whatever it takes. Just think of all of the money you'll save as well as the feeling of being free from opes.

I'm on day 8 and I feel decent. Sleep is attainable with meds and the only thing I'm dealing with now really is the minor depression and anxiety which is easily fixed by physical activity. You can do this, man. You gotta ask yourself tho, how bad u wanna clean up?

Just because you had a slip, doesn't mean you can't beat this thing.

It basically does come to how bad you want it. In the end, no one can make you clean but yourself. This isn't to provoke an existential crisis, but to empower you. You can do it!

Hello fellow NC'er im in the middle of the state, anyway today its been 14 days no opies, feeling way better I used to be on 80-100 mg Hydro's daily. you got this Bro....PM me if you need to talk.

Hey guys I just want to post that Im a month and a half clean and things are very normal..I never would of thought that I can feel normal but after 2-3 weeks clean everything started to be good..I have no intentions of going back and dealing with the WITHDRAWL symptoms so im saying NO to drugs Lololol..
Good luck and there is light at the end of the tunnel..what helped me was that every week I would say "ok this is my last week im going to feel like shit",I kept telling myself this for week 1,2 and week 3..by the beginning of week 3 I did feel somewhat normal, week 4 the hell was over and I got all my energy back..

I also changed my cell number and deleted all my dealers out of my phone so I won't get tempted to call them up.
