cheapest and best broadband deals ?

Lol

Get fiber optic directly to the home. Even my home telephone line (yes, I have a home telephone/landline) is done through fiber. Traditional hardline (coaxial cable included) is so 20th century ;)

i had FTTP cost a shit load, now we have FTTC, i stillg et a 76/19 but you have to remember its only fibre to the cabinet (the phone box shit) and copper the rest of the way, alot of people think they buy fibre and it's fibre to their house it's not only to the cabinet unless you get Fibre To The Premises (FTTP)

Well yeah to a certain extent, it's really how far you live from you exchange luckily i live 5 mins walk and get 76/19 on a 80MB line, and my cabinet is actually 500m in the wrong way to the cabinet, i would love to have that 330MB/s on the Virgin line we had but we don't have it here so it only takes 2-3 mins for a film nothing to moan about and fibre isn't that much it will become standard like HD/3d Tvs did.

I'm still not tempted to pay the extra for fibre. ADSL is still fine for our purposes.

I can still download a decent quality film in about 10 minutes or whatever, so I don't see the point of paying even more money so I can download it in 2 minutes. How fucking urgent is it to download a film? :D

I'm sure fibre is nice if you have more money than sense, but if you've got a decent ADSL connection I still don't see the need for it. Unless you need to pander to your kids' requirement to stream or download 3D Blu-ray stuff immediately or they'll go in a sulk. ;)

Agreed, FUBAR. There's only two of us here, so there's no point paying the extra (yet).

Evey: if it's just you and your daughter, and your current broadband is good enough for your purposes, then it would be a waste of money to upgrade.

The most important thing (IMO) is how much money you're paying. You shouldn't be so precious about things like email addresses; they can be changed at any time for free. All it takes it a bit of planning & work to change your email address. :)

it's depending on your needs really if i live on my own then yeah a good speed 20MB ADSL would be fine (cept the uplaod is wank), so any think for a 2-3 family with tvs/ipads/phones/pcs/laptops etc you really need fibre its mainly the UPLOAD that you will see when uploading vidoes/images and skype the uploadon Fibre is faser than your down load on ADSL2+ 20mb sync at 17/18MB

I've got 20gb data with EE. Did a speed test on my phone and got around 40mb down, 10mb up. Comes in very handy for uploading photos.

4g has just started round here so it's shite.

Evey

It seems to have only just turned up here, like, in the past few months. Remember driving out to a building site on the outskirts of Brid back in like March and being amazed because my phone suddenly picked up 4g, having never had it before. Now I can get it all over and it's as good if not occasionally better than me home broadband

edit: that sucks, man :(
