that trip was just a day hike - about 5 miles in and 5 miles out:



so just good shoes, camera and a camelbak full of water

Yeh, I'd be gasping for water but could do that hike comfortably, wish I'd been there!

It would be harder to carry an overnight camp in, but wow how wonderful would that be to stay over at Half Moon Lake %)

i live in northern california, close to the sierra nevada so i'm lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing geography.

View from my camp kitchen last weekend. The tree on the wee mount has been given the name "Witches Tree" lol. It is indeed spooky at night when the real wild life comes out to hunt
