Sammy G?

I've a degree in psychology NOT mental health. The two are completely different. Any psychology graduate will tell you that. Stuff in psychology concerning MH is extremely slight. Psychology is the study of human behaviour - not mental health. Two completely different entities entirely.

Erm why me ?
Other people have also said 'laying off your prescription' is bad advice.

Was it because I said it first ? Or because my lower post count means I'm fair game ?

Any time you want to argue with me about advising people with m.h issues to take their meds then feel free.
I doubt I can say anything more than Julie or S haven't said already but please crack on if you feel you must.

If it's a case of defending raas who is your friend *today* then I should point out there is a difference between saying he said a fucking stupid thing then actually calling *him* fucking stupid.
You may not still be friends when you sober up so I won't hold my breath.

I never stopped being friends with him. What's EADD's obsession with my friendship with Raasy? We're not the only members on this forum n all friends argue from time to time I've never once STOPPED being his friend as I don't stop being friends with people because I argue with them, I'm 35 not 5. So where people get this "you're friends today n won't be tomorrow" is ludicrous. Arguing with someone doesn't stop you being their friend at all. Hope I've cleared that n people can stop with the skitty remarks. Thanks.

Honestly. If I said "the blue cube is on top of the red cylinder", OTW would be in there with "no, you idiot, the red cylinder is under the blue cube".

Now, can we please get back to the original point? Which was, Pagey -- having been diagnosed bipolar -- would like to get in touch with Sammy G. Who appears not to be currently posting here (but if you are lurking, please at least send her a PM); but someone may know of an alternative channel of communication.

So.

At the risk of some TERF mistaking a show of sisterly solidarity for sticking my boypart in where it is not wanted, how about we let the next post belong to someone who actually has a genuine contribution to make to this thread?

Don't have his number.

Can people PLEASE stop fucking bickering over what was *kind of* a serious post? Yes I know I need to see a doctor. I'm seeing one on Monday. All I was fucking asking is if anyone knows how to get in touch with Sammy G or can at least give a compassionate response.
The fighting is pathetic.

Don't be scared Pagey, the fear itself is what fucks you. My best mate is bi polar if you wanna talk, if not thats aight.

Next time you contact him take his number that way its much easier to know how he is. Some people can go days without going on bluelight it doesn't always mean something is up. I heard he got banned for being racist or something unless that was somebody else I dunno?

MODERATING HAT ON: Sammy G escaped the pointy end of a modstick when his actions were taken in context as a whole. He does not appear to have been active on the forum since the incident in question. It would be considered somewhat impolite if we were to speculate any further in public, about someone who is not there to defend themself.

Agreed :)

. Try to lay off the prescriptions and keep your medicine as natural as possible. But if you do get stuck, there is tons of help available.

.
BOLLOCKS. If natural medicines alone work for Raas and co then they aren't really bipolar, they just have good days and bad days like everyone else; and if they don't, and you feel the need to self-medicate, you already know what you will want to self-medicate with; which is a Bad Idea for one so young and beautiful as yourself..

I am no fan of BigPharma but this is just plain reckless "advice". What do you even mean when you say "natural"? All chemicals are "natural" due to being created by natural processes. Belladonna is also "natural" - would that be helpful? Or rolling in stinging nettles whilst scourging yourself with thistles perhaps?

After re-reading thread, just popping in not to bicker but to clarify my stance which was badly explained/vastly misunderstood here -

I am not saying at all to go against a doctor, that would be careless. Just saying, from experiencing anxiety disorders and talking at the time to others who came through them, I was astonished to learn how much diet and exercise can revamp ones mental health. A lot of people may feel limited in themselves because of a diagnosis or feel dependent on medication to function, without realising how much they can help themselves in other ways. Of course, listen to a professional before anyone else.

Nothing too new or exciting in what I'm saying, but nice to reiterate it occasionally. OK, I'm off again.

If old Sam G does appear again could someone mention there's a new book out on Pete Sooty that he'd probably enjoy.

And can I just make a point about bi - polar disorder..... whats the point in panicking over a diagnosis and then getting wrecked on mxe. It really isnt going to help with the symptoms, and makes a mockery over the pharmaceutical vs alternative therapy debate.

I know im overstepping the mark here, but planning a wedding while in the middle of a possible hyper-manic episode isnt the best way to approach such an important, life changing event. Wouldnt it be better for the OP to get their mental health stabilised first? Spending ones honeymoon detained under a section of the mental health act isn't the best way to start a marriage.

They've been planning this for ages. Weddings can't be cancelled like that without costing a fortune, lost deposit etc.

Evey

your right evey, and i hope everything goes to plan

would be an even bigger waste though if the day is ruined through ill health

im living with mental illness in my face but that didnt stop my father loosing just under a thousand pounds when it became obvious that he wouldnt even be able to get my mother through an airport, never mind a fortnight in a foreign country. Ok so it didnt bankrupt him, but that doesnt mean he or anyone else can afford to throw that kind of money down the toilet.

I dont have a solution one way or the other, im just playing devils advocateto try and point out all the angles in what is a difficult situation.

This is a HR site, and isnt it commenly suggested that moving house and / or getting married are amongst the most stressful life events when it comes to impact on ones mental health?
