Just got prescribed klonopin 1mg just curious what to expect if anything? I am currently prescribed 60mg of oxycontnin and 40mg of oxycodone a day so I have a pretty hightolerance on that side of things but I know the klonopin is totally different and effects you differently. 1 mg just sounds like an awfully low dose but I've been surprised before when it comes to pills. Also wondering about dependence an addiction, is it anything comparable to oxy?

There is no comparison between oxy(opioid) and Klonopin(benzo). If you have no tolerance as of yet to benzos tread carefully, 1mg can be a large dose to a benzo naive person. Also be careful about cross interactions between oxy and klonopin, both are CNS depressants. Please read up about the combo.

They are completely different. Opioids and benzos can be a deadly combination especially for someone who has never taken a benzo. Please do your research. 
Also forgot to respond to your question about dependence/addiction. Like alcohol--benzos such as Klonopin can kill you if you are dependent on them and abruptly stop. They must be tapered so be aware when starting a benzo that repeated use can quickly lead to dependency and unlike opioids you cannot cold turkey quit them. They absolutely must be tapered and generally take a long time to taper off of. I have been dependent and addicted to both and although the 7 or so days after quitting opioids can be hellishly painful as you get through the dope-sickness, benzo tapering lasts months and can not be hurried by the cold-turkey method.
I would recommend that if you plan to take klonopin to take it as needed and try your best to keep from using it ritualistically daily. You want to avoid dependence at all costs. I would honestly recommend from one drug user to another to use them as prescribed (whether it be to combat an anxiety disorder, sleep disorder, etc.) Don't use them to get high, they hardly have any desirable recreational effects other than relieving anxiety or helping you sleep. They may have relaxing effects but that isn't something you can't achieve by the other medications you are prescribed. Also be careful, benzo dependence can creep up quickly and silently.

Yeah those two are a bad combo especially if you are benzo naive no matter what your opiod tolerance is.

Also if you have a tendency to abuse benzos like xanax and klonopin, they will leave burn holes in your memories if used too much. As someone stated above they also MUST be tapered off. My mom recently tried to quit xanax and nearly died from it, she was taking about 4 mg daily for years. Even .5 less and she got sick for weeks. It's a long slow process that's better to avoid completely in the first place.

1mg is actually a moderate dose to start. its a very very potent drug .125mg effects the body. crazy really how potent humans can make a substance so potent. clonazepam Is a analogue of diazepam (valium) meaning they took diazepam, messed with its molecular structure to make a new drug which has a very very long half life (12+hrs). other benzos have been produced the same way, but the one your taking stays in your system for a long time (i believe it was originally designed for seizures) so be very careful you will build tolerance fast, and benzo dependence is a bitch to go through. It will also cause severe amnesia compared to most other benzo's. take them everyday? you will be very dumb very fast.

I just wanted to say that even though daily use is usually not recommended the bold statement is NOT always true.
I took between 1 and 1.5mgs EVERY SINGLE DAY for over 11 years and had no withdrawal or memory loss when getting off of it.
I know I'm the exception, but when people say things like this I feel that I have to speak up.

Truth is no matter if you need the drug or your just using to be using your body does get addicted. I'm on narcotics due to brittal bone disease, broke back, fibromyalgia as well as heart issues that causes extreme pain ( angina ) and Klonopins for anxiety. Sadly after 3 years of following my doctors recommended dose I know I'm addicted. Sadly it's inescapable. I'm 42 and done it all and I guess it eventually wore me down till I had to have medication just to walk

if you are trying to get anxiety relief take one mg for a high take 2-3mgs. tread lightly though and air on the side of caution you are mixing 2 cns deressents which can be fun(im doing it right now with 15mg oxy and 3mg xanax). just be safe and give an update.
