Gay Saunas/Bath houses/backrooms/SOPV, What is your stance on sex-on-premises venues?

Last night I went down to Sydney to one of my favourite saunas, also the biggest in Sydney and each venue seems to have a "type" that belongs in each venue. For example Bodyline is for twinks/muscle boys and that doesn't interest me at all. Sydney City Steam or 357 for short(its at 357 Sussex St) is advertised for all body types but its mostly Asians and older "Daddy Bears" as the label goes. Im not into Asians, and not because of racism but that's just me. But I love older, fit, masculine gentlemen and if I want sex on tap with really sexy guys then this is where I go. I don't go expecting to find a date or a boyfriend. I use meth and go purely for sex(I pretty much use meth for sex exclusively as methadone messes with my sex drive and i'm 24 so that's not really something im happy about)

Anyway, I totally understand why some people might be against them. A lot of unsafe sex goes on in these places, a lot of drug use goes on and occasionally you get a guy that's just a bit too pushy(or straight up not understanding the word NO) and if your not good at rejecting people then they can get pretty full on. But its totally up to you how your experience goes. You can choose to fuck everyone unsafely and likely contract STI's(HIV being pretty likely), or you can be responsible and take care of yourself and your sexual partner and be safe. A venue cant force unsafe sex on anyone.

Anyway last night I got 0.4g of meth, smoked maybe 1.5 points and shot the rest in 3 shots(one in the kings Cross safe injecting room. Look it up, its a room with nurses, booths for 2 ppl, chill-out area in case your heroin is a bit stronger than you thought or your coke/meth is blowing your mind. After this I headed up to 357and enjoyed my night immensely. No actual penetration took place this time but it was fun, I met cool new guys and the top level is a no sex, social area/café so its not all seedy sex, its a great place to socialise & these places have been in existence forever so obviously they serve a needed purpose.

SO what is your opinion on these places? Have you ever been? Tell me what your thoughts are?

These places are so much different and much less intimidating than I originally thought. I agree taking drugs before you go is not the best idea but ive been using meth for over 10 years and I know myself on meth. I played with 4-5 guys tonight over a 12 hour period I guess and it was great, no regrets at all. Now im home, methadone is kicking in, ive got 2g of very nice weed chopped up and 5, 2mg clonazepam sublingual tabs that im get to demolish(not all 5 though lol) I did want to get another 01g of meth, split it and do hotrails with my mate, but that doesn't look like it will happen so relaxing is my plan for the day :-)

Be honest, men, women, Gay/Bi/Straight, I want to hear your opinions.
 
here in the ATL there used to be a club called the 'lOOmings'. invite only. when you walked in, there was an indoor jungle complete with a turtle pond. one room had a 55gal aquarium with a fake skeleton, filled with crayfish snatching fish out of the water to eat - then zebra couches and porn. there was a pickup truck for a while, i got fucked in the back of it. free sodas, too. i went there to trip - it was *fantastic*. did i mention the hot naked guys wandering around, silently, like homo-ghosts?

I'm bisexual, have never been to a bath house/sex club; and it's not really my thing as I'm not that into sex with strangers even if I have had it a few times with men and women who I met in bars, through friends, or who I dated and we had sex on the 1st or 2nd date. I practice safer sex but that's my choice.

I don't even go to bars anymore as I don't drink anymore, and I only go maybe once or twice a year if I'll be meeting a friend there, or friends want to go there.

If other people want to go to the baths, sex clubs, back rooms in bars, adult bookstores, etc. or have sex with strangers that's their choice it's just not something that I personally want to do.

I have had men in bars tell me to go to ones in Germany so I could meet women and men to whip or flog since they said I would look hot doing that, or wanted to see me do it to people. One guy who claimed he worked at a local university told me I should do gay leather/BDSM videos as a top but that's not something I want to do. This was at a bar where a man I knew socially from a bar/club when I attended university told me how there was a backroom there and I went there thinking I could just go and watch people or see what it was like, and it was a piano bar with lots of old men singing musical songs and show tunes.

I have also been to adult bookstores-when they were around in my area, and Tearooms/T-Rooms but I never had sex in any of those places since I would go there to buy porn-this was back when adult bookstores and mail order were pretty much the only places to get porn magazines and VHS tapes, and to use the bathroom but it was obvious that public sex went on in both places.

Do you ever fist men while on meth? Or have raw/bareback sex? I've never used meth as I was prescribed Dexedrine for ADD and low doses of that were enough. I had sex buzzed or drunk on alcohol three times and I did not enjoy it. I have friends who are bisexual or gay men who did go to them, sometimes it was just to watch, have group masturbation, or get sucked off by multiple men, or a few went get fucked by a lot of men at once in a gang bang.

I don't know if any of them combined sex with drugs at bath houses, sex clubs, etc. I know that when some of them used drugs it was at home usually with a partner or someone who they were dating. Or when they combined sex with drugs like meth or coke they would use drugs at home, and then go to a local park at night and find men to have sex with.

I have an older gay male friend who told me about going to bath houses in southern California in the late 70s and how he did fuck men up the ass then, and tried fisting men twice at them. This friend also gave a lot of blowjobs and got some in men's rooms, men's locker rooms, and adult bookstores in the early 70s, had sex in bars after closing with men he was friends with, and said how it was a completely different world then before HIV/AIDS, and how HIV/AIDS ruined everything and killed lots of people, and complicated the lives of many people.

There are adult bookstores, and sex clubs/bath houses in the city I live in but I don't go to them as they hold no interest to me. The one bath house everyone knows about since it's not that clean inside-people piss in the hallways where people have to walk from room to room, drug overdoses happen and people die there, lots of unprotected sex and drug use happens, and if someone wants to buy meth or other drugs they could easily hypothetically do that there. The other bath houses in the city are clean, well kept, and if anyone did any of the stuff like they do at the other bath they would be kicked out, and told to not go back.

I lived in another city where there was a lot of male prostitution. You would see ads for it all the time on Craigslist, and my roommates and I would be out waiting for a bus or in public, and male prostitutes would approach us asking if we were interested in them. It also was odd since car sex was insanely popular there, and adult bookstores were around and every bisexual or gay man knew about them or how public sex went on at them. But none of this interested me as I had a partner then, and for the reasons I listed above. When the weather got nice people had public sex in parks but I didn't go out at night except around where I lived since it was safe there; but other parts of the city were very dangerous at night.

When did you go there? A bisexual male friend of mine told me about going to there in the late 80s and how he fucked some man up the ass there; but they did not use condoms-which I was pretty surprised about but I guess this was when HIV/AIDS was recent. I did not know that bath house was invite only. My friend lived in ATL for a bit but then moved out of Georgia.

Did or do you practice safer sex or not?

Did you ever go to FortTroFF or did you hear of it?

that was the only time i did anal there - it was with a army sniper from the place where i worked, had to do it, but we were safe. otherwise, just a bit of oral/manual. mostly i took 5MeoDipt and 2CI and went and watched.

there's another actual bath house in ATL, i've been there mostly cause they have a heated pool - its fun while tripping to go skinny dipping. same limitation, i did very little.

Now I finally understand something. I had this friend of unknown sexual orientation who kept talking about this tropical indoor island party. There was sand, heat lamps, an indoor pond, and tropical island props everywhere. They would do it in the winter, turn up the heat so hot that everybody would take off their clothes. He said if I was interested, he could get me an invitation. But he would never give the details or tell me the boy to girl ratio.

The whole anonymous groupsex/bathhouse/in the bushes at the park whatever sex scene sounds degrading. I wouldn't do it even if I were gay.
 
Women aren't allowed in any of these venues. Not even male to female transgender people.

I find it depends on which way you look at it. Ive stepped in cum many times, though 357 is the cleanest one n Sydney, the rooms get cleaned very regularly. But when there are 100+ guys in a space and a lot of sex is happening, your bound to step in cum sooner or later.

I have done things ive come to regret. A few people ive engaged in some type of sexual encounter with ive realised that if I weren't on drugs I wouldn't go near them. I also got invited into a private room one and there were a bunch of guys in there, a school principal, an ex-police officer, a real eastate agent and a hairdresser. As I said, different things go on at different venues, some are cleaner than others, some have reputations for high drug use & STI infection among customers, some have very good reputations too. Theres something called the ACON code of practice and it says there has to be a suitable amount of lighting anywhere where sex may take place and there must be lube and condoms in each room. This is for every SOPV and is compulsory legally.

Maybe the one I go to is much classier? The have condoms everywhere, they are cleaning the sheets ALL the time. You certainly can't do drugs in public and I doubt many people do. It's just a good vibe, you can go dancing in one are and then there is the other area for sex.... private rooms and the big public room. People generally go with partners. There are certain nights for couples and certain nights for singles and some nights for both.
It's for straight and gay couples, not specific. More straight people go but still. It's for everyone.

Yes they're pretty common in the United States. You will find them in most large cities, and when I lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere there was a sex club for bi and gay men that said it was a resort/hotel. I never went to it but everyone knew about it, and how it was a sex club.

One guy I knew when I lived in a rural area had met men who did talk about how they loved going to bath houses and sex clubs, and he said how he had no desire to go to them since in his opinion it was 'paying for sex', and he could easily go to a bar or go on the internet and find men to have sex with easily. But this guy was a male prostitute, and was happy he was not raised in a large city.

I met an older gay man when I lived in a rural area who talked about going to men's rooms and XXX porn theaters-these were movie theaters that showed porn not adult bookstores- to suck men off and how he did this a few times a day in the 70s, and how he thought that there should be glory holes everywhere in all men's bathrooms so any bi or gay man could easily get 'relief' and sucked off.

things are less tinged in todays times with that level of serious oppression but not as much in the whole world so its still really fucked in a sense of human rights.
 
I am pretty fucking mixed on these places...I've never used one but I would if I couldn't get what I wanted out on my own...

they're a good place to go if you're nervous about going home with a guy...no having to worry if this guy is a gay serial killer on the down low. also, there's pure safety in numbers.

but they're also pretty outdated since you can basically meet guys like straight people get coffee nowadays. we don't have to rely on these places to congregate anymore

i personally think that today most of the guys at these type of sex-on-premises places would have to be at least somewhat desperate to get laid. they probably couldn't pick up any guys online or at the club, and they had to settle. also, they're probably 40+. but that's just my opinion

Also, I think they shouldn't be an issue with the law (other than public drug dealing/use - which is the norm) - as the patrons are renting time in a venue. When you go to a club (dance / drinking) - you pay $5~20 to get in. Maybe you buy drinks and get drunk, not required. Maybe you'll meet someone and fuck them in the bathroom (done that - I like uni-sex bathrooms) - again, not paying for sex / prostitution as its just consenting adults getting laid or whatever.

I would like to go to a bathhouse of even a non-sexual nature with the wife... but thats the nudist in us.

Yeah I can imagine 40+ year old guys being desperate to get laid and unable to pick people up like the young ones 8)

There are a lot of married guys use the bathhouse / saunas - they cannot just hook up with a guy on the street or app and go to a house etc. If you enjoy a casual fuck and you enjoy a sauna then why not use them - great way to spend a lazy afternoon.
 
I'm a bisexual woman, and I frequent BDSM clubs that allow sex on the premises. As long as safer sex supplies are around (including gloves and dental dams), and clean up supplies are provided, I'm pretty chill about it.

I've been to a lot of clubs that allow sex on premises - I hate it when there are no condoms / lube / gloves etc (they know a lot of guys are high and may be more likely to practice unsafe sex, to not give condoms is a disgrace).

In some cities and areas there are bath houses, or sex clubs that are for women and men.

I talked to a gay man I used to correspond with about the one bath house in his city for women and he was under the impression that if you had sex with anyone there you would get an STD. However, it was fine for him to have sucked off 600+ men within a decade at the all male bath house, and that in his opinion it was perfectly OK to suck off men who are HIV+, and he claimed he had never had any STDs but I don't really believe that.
