Need help talking friend out of mixing iv fentanyl and xanax

I'm trying to convince my friend that this Is unsafe but he's convinced as long as he has naloxone by his side he will be fine. He wants to take 4mg xanax sublingual and iv the gel from a fent patch he recently acquired (I'm not sure what dose it is) he takes opiates and benzos occasionally but I wouldn't say he necessarily has a tolerance to either drug. Any advice? He wants to do it tomorrow night so Friday but I'm telling him it's not smart..
 
It's really pointless. The xanax will dull the euphoria from the fent.

Fent patches are extremely dangerous to IV in the first place. 4mg xanax is a very heavy dose if you don't think he has much of a tolerance.

Chances are he can easily fall out.

These are the necessary warnings. If he doesn't take them on he'd face the consequences. It is very good that you came here out of concern. You're a good friend. He, however is not a good friend if he won't listen. But sadly sometimes in life you must let people fuck up so they can learn.

IMO he should drop the fent and only do the xanax.
 
Oftentimes naloxone does not displace the fentanyl due to the fent's high binding affinity resulting in uncontrolled OD. Even if it did bring him out of OD he would fall back out quickly due to the short half life. An OD is likely when you are mixing two potent CNS depressants. If he has a death wish there's not too much you can do.. it really lends credence to Darwins theory though.
 
tell your friend to listen to everybody who is posted here. they gave some great advice and spoke the truth, it will not end well. do what you can to let your friend know that this is a horrible idea.
 
mixing benzo's with opiods is very very risky. you risk blacking out. A semi well known rapper by the name of A$AP Yams recently passed away from mixing codein and xanax. ....keep a close eye on your friend.
 
I would not do that especially because you are going to be very inefficient at dissolving the fent into a solution to IV so you couldn't accurately measure the dose. If you had premeasured fent powder or something I could understand wanting to do that but this is some serious Russian roulette you've got going on. It almost sounds like hes got a death wish why mix that big dose of xanax with an unknown amount of opiates let alone fent, which as others have said if this goes really wrong he can be dead before those other options become available.

I would not let him do this because if it goes wrong you will be part of an "involuntary manslaughter investigation." or something very similar, what you are doing will be considered you killing him just so you are aware.

You're saying if he overdoses and dies it's my fault? No I'm trying to help him.
 
he is right though sadly. and we all know you're trying to help your friend, but if he does end up doing it you need to not be around for it because if it goes bad you will be to blame even though none of it is your fault. I know you're just trying to help your friend but you need to think in your best interest as well.
 
I've taken 2.5mgs of Valium with 5mgs of methadone & I felt low levels of CNS depression, & thought to myself, so this is how an OD starts, having trouble breathing as your heart slows down.

I got over it w/o a problem because it was very small doses & I had taken both before.

Your friend is ingesting 2 bars (4mgs xanax) & IV Fentanyl, which is 100 times stronger than morphine I believe.......that's an OD waiting to happen on its own w/o the xanax, adding the benzo will possibly KO him for good.

Some people like to push the envelope more than others, for what reason, only the know.

This sounds like a death wish.......

Some states are trying to enact a "good Samaritan law" which protects you from these types of things but I would say if he dies you will be blamed. In a world were blame is what everyone cares about if it were you and him in a room and he died you would have to clear your name, my cousin went through this were he was seen with a friend who ODed that night and my cousin had to lawyer up because they had him as suspect number 1 in an involuntary manslaughter investigation, he was cleared because he was not with the kid when he died and my cousin is not even a drug user. It is very important to know how you will be seen should the worst come to pass and its always guilty until proven innocent.
 
Well thank you everyone for the replies and advice my friend read all these responses and decided on still doing the mix. BUT without iv'ing the Fentanyl. He had a friend watch over him as well and is okay today. I told him sorry I cannot hangout if I risk getting arrested for his to desire to get to fucked up lol. Thank you Bluelight!
 
I just Ived 100mcg fet and had 4mg Xanax and I'm not even feeling buzzed. Was only a lil giggly and cheeky at first
