Opioids Kratom + Oxy

I've been taking Kratom to reduce my intake of pharm painkillers. It's worked okay.
But there have been times when I've given in to the urge and done some oxy or percocet.
It seems like after having done kratom, my tolerance would be pretty low for the OCs
But my tolerance seems to be up there still.
What are anyone elses observations on that?

Kratom doesn't mix well with real opiates - tends to block the receptors, though I'm fuzzy on the science. Kratom's useful for withdrawals, but it prevents opiates proper from hitting full-strength, in my experience. There's no point combining the two: use kratom for w/ds, while it's active in your system it'll block most opiates in a methadone-style way. Which DOES NOT mean take more of either: redosing kratom isn't very effective, and when it wears off, whatever else is in your system could bite you in the ass full-strength. As a rule of thumb, don't use kratom and pharm opiates or dope on the same day - you might want to read up about potentiating kratom to help you through withdrawal.

^ where is your source that says kratom blocks opiate receptors? you dont have one because that is not true. kratom and oxy would be like taking oxy, then taking more oxy to replace the kratom. they are almost interchangeable besides their potency.

i think taking kratom on top of oxy to help with pharm intake of opioids is a great idea, though there is no surprise that your tolerance didn't go down because a high enough dose of kratom feels like 10-15mgs of oxy to me and the alkaloids in kratom act as full-agonists so like i said, taking kratom ontop of oxy would be like just taking more oxy with your oxy.

Yeah it's difficult to tell what's really going on, with nothing to go by except for how I'm feeling.
I just feel like my tolerance is not any lower. I don't feel the effect of taking a 30mg OC the way I was expecting to.

Taking them together would cause them to cancel each other out, not boost them. An oxy only lasts about 4 hours so if you are going to mix them allow time in between each one so they don't overlap. On a really bad pain day I will cheat and take an oxy (only once every couple of weeks) but for the most part kratom does the job, especially since I got some red horn in. It seems to be really good on pain issues. Kratom works a whole lot better than the oxys ever did and it lets me sleep at night while oxycodone would keep me awake.

My tolerance is slowly going down now that I'm not taking them but once in awhile. I am planning on not going back to pain management ever if I can help it. Too many games and stress.

You produce a tolerance to it, have to keep increasing dosage to get the same high, etc. You take enough Kratom to make yourself comfortable, basically maintaining your current opiate tolerance. In a way, it's like asking why taking Oxy isn't decreasing Oxy tolerance. Kratom isn't magic, with it you stimulate your opiate receptors the same way Oxy would. Why would your tolerance go down?
