Is this supposed to be how it works or am i taking very low dose ? I want it for social anxiety but so far i notice (amazing) effect on just physical effects of anxiety but nothing on anxiety itself .

I use 5 mg valium . Should i increase the dose ?

N.B i cant use another benzo so its valium is this supposed to be its effect just muscle relaxer or am i using low dose ?

I think of upping the dose to 10 mg and i would use it just three days a week once in the day . Would that be good to avoid dependance ?

5mg is a fairly low dose
valium isnt really for social anxiety though has more anxiolytic.muscle relaxer and is for seizures
you can up the dose if needed
why can't you use another benzo?

I heard xanax and klonopin are very addictive and i am an addictive personality (even for cola and non drugs) so i want to avoid them if possible...
so i an seeking valium so maybe if i upped the dose it would work for social anxiety ?

I am rotating valium with lyrica and baclofen too each 3 days to avoid tolerance or dependance to any .

This should be a tolerance issue if I'm not mistaken.

Benzos are not worth it in the long term for your social anxiety. You should seek relief elsewhere.

Sure I can tell you to up your dose but eventually you're gonna have to do it again and again.

Sometimes I just take 1 Valium (10mg) and go out drinking & have 0 anxiety. Not that I'm recommending this to you but with moderation and self-control you'd be able have a small dose of a benzos and very few drinks and none of that will be a problem.

It's annoying to hear "find another outlet for relief" but you must realize that these drugs aren't forgiving in the long term and can easily worsen your anxiety.

I am not dependant on it it will be

3 days - valium 10mg
next 3 days - Lyrica 150 mg
next 3 days - Baclofen (didnt decide dose yet)

And inderal or smoking a cigarette to calm my nerves would be used as needed.

So i guess with this dependancy on valium wont be a problem right ?

I am very unsure about your question. But afaik all those drugs do affect GABA so at some point it'll cause a dependence.

Funny you mention the cigarette thing. There was a thread over in OD discussing how cigarettes affect the metabolism of benzos and 1 was Diazepam iirc. Apparently in made the body get rid of it much quicker as the nicotine induces the same enzyme needed for Diazepam's metabolism. And I even took 30mg yesterday and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Then I started smoking cigarettes and the effects slowly just went down to like if I had taken only 1. Was strange, thought it was worth mentioning.

I wanna ask since i have never smoked in social situations does smoking calms ur nerves and makes u less socially anxious ?

IME, as the cigarette is being smoked, my anxiety skyrockets to a crippling point. But after it calms me.

The act of smoking is known to calm the mind as it is a calming action/ritual. The smoking itself IMO doesn't help with anxiety.

The latter part of a weed high is a better anxiolytic IME.

I meant a normal nicotine cigarette if it calms and gives a buzz then i guess it can work as an anixolyitc in some cases so you avoid dependance or tolerance to drugs . But also keep in mind smoking side effects

Yes but nicotine causes NE to be released in the brain which causes a burst of anxiety IME

hmm interesting i quit smoking cigs about 6 months and switched to e cigs not like its better but cheaper and i dont stink like an ashtray lol
so does the nicotine deteriorate the effects of valium or benzos in general? ?

Oxazepam 20-30mg very good if its panic attacks your trying to avoid also building your social confidence up gradually too , phenibut works to take edge off, kava not bad but Valium is very bad idea for social anxiety in my experience best of luck

Use the meds to help build confidence not as a crutch been there done that .

Not only is Valium x 3 days of the week frequent enough to build tolerance and cause dependence, but Lyrica and benzos can create cross-tolerance issues.

What exactly are you trying to medicate for? "Social anxiety" is a really broad term. Are you having panic attacks, or just feeling anxious in social situations? Valium might be appropriate when taken strictly as-needed for the former, but for the latter you're better off looking at an ongoing anti-anxiety medication.

Benzo act on gaba a and lyrica is ca channel blocker how are they cross tolerant ?

Yes I think it's too small of a dose to be effective.

But benzos are great for social anxiety when used as needed for 'special occasions'. For most people there is nothing as effective as a benzo to temporarily remove the anxiety. Imo this is the only way benzos should be used when using for longer durations of time. If you start taking them daily obviously tolerance builds quickly. It's better to have other meds to rely on on a daily basis and save the benzos for those really anxious times.

With an addictive personality and constantly rotating between GABA dugs I can say to 99% that's gonna end badly and you will be hooked on one or several of the drugs. So if I were you I would go with another plan. I have xanax for social anxiety and am very careful with my use. Even though sometimes it is tempting to pop one I never use unless I need to and only in small doses.
