Well, i'm only 23 but years of lackluster hygiene have meant I've ended up with quite severe periodontitis (gum disease).

without very expensive surgery I could end up loosing my teeth. It's poor luck in part, and in part a few years of drinking/ drug abuse/ partying and lackluster dental care.

I know, weird thread to post, but does anyone have any experience with this? I swear EADD is the first place I come to whenever I have any problems, as you guys seem to have been through it all.

I'm well qualified but worried my fucked teeth will have a noticeable impact on my life.

Same same, i only have my front teeth left at the age of 36 after dissolving the rest through my addictions to smoking no.3 heroin and full fat Coca-Cola

One of the obvious side effects of chronic heroin use is premature aging, and loosing ones teeth is the first visable symptom of this.

Im not accusing you of being a baghed Hex, im just pointing out that these things are an occupational hazard of persistent self abuse

Sounds shit hexa, I hope the surgery goes well for you!

I thought the typical baghead mouthrot was just cos of the lifestyle/laziness (too gouched out to care)---but I guess that's also a side effect of chronic heroin use then (though maybe not a direct side effect)

This is often the case, but not exclusively. Opiate use tends to reduce saliva production which is necessary for healthy teeth. 'Tis just one of the many side effects of opiate use. Incidentally, one of the most annoying WD symptoms for me was excessive saliva production - I once filled a half pint glass within half an hour because my guts couldn't take swallowing it any more...

NOt sure about gear rotting yer teeth - Im in my 50's and still have all my front teeth and the 5 or so i have had taken out were because fillings came out and im dental phobic and was too scared to get them refilled so they just rotted till they had to be pulled.
Also premature aging? I thought we had a convo on here about how it takes years off your life. I think its the lifestyle not the drug that does it and if you use stims that will deffo age you - when people starting using speed in the 60's coroners in the states couldn't understand how people in their 20's had vital organs of someone in their 60's....speed kills:|

I don't even use opiates, booze and benzos are my addiction of choice. but I get too monged on both to brush my teeth. Disgusting I know.

I might just smoke gear and fuck it all. Because my life is already a pleasure seeking mess.

My girlfriend is an absolulte, smoking hot, blonde bombshell. Not bullshiting, she is genuinley jaw dropping. What the hell is she doing with me.

Don't drop your jaw if you have bad teeth :| But too monged to brush, do you mean that you went whole days without brushing or just skipped the evenings? In any case it sounds like bad luck/genes dude.

booze the worst of the lot - will make you feel crap, look crap and crap the bed. When i'm out of gear i tend to do the same tho' BnB but thats only 1-2 times a month maybe 3-4 cant really remember... I did 2 blues and a bottle n a half of wine on sat and felt fuckin awful in the morning - i was tempted to drop another 10mg but didn't know if it would make things worse or better - i do tend to get these benzovers, maybe cos i don't take em very often?

I had the beginnings of periothingy - basically gum disease - and being tight I looked into other ways of treating it. Check out a waterpik ultra, it's a water flosser that gets right into your gingival pockets, and removes all plaque. With that and regular brushing I've managed to reverse the bleeding receeding gums, and my breath no longer stinks..
