Saw an episode of the 'autopsy' series about Anna Nicole Smith. Although she was prescribed an obscene amount of vicodin, diazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam, methadone etc etc. It seems the medical community consider chloral hydrate to be the one that eventually killed her. Just googled it and it appears to be uncontrolled in the UK, as well as ridiculously easy to make. Has anyone got experience with this substance?
 
Yep had a mate who was scripted about a litre a month - bit like benzos the right amount is good too much and you fall about like you've downed a 1l of vodka. Use to be put in to drinks 'micky finn' before roofies ; )
 
its really effective at getting you to sleep, but you wake up feeling like crap and semi-retarded for a couple of days after.
 
My father was on CH as a young man. It fixed his HPPD, but fucked his cognition.

Point is it's probably more dangerous due to a lower therapeutic index (difference between effective dose & dangerous overdose) & it supposedly has similar effects to benzodiazepines. Anna was on methadone & an assortment of benzos, but it was probably chloral hydrate that killed her in an accidental overdose.

It might also cause liver & kidney damage with chronic use, among other things.
