Combining Opiates

Hey guys and gals long time reader first post here so I wanted to ask a few questions to the community.

So first off, I have chronic abdominal pain so every month I get a prescription for 120 15mg Roxicodone pills.I love the feeling of my roxicodone but is there a better option I should be on? I was also just in a terrible car accident so my pain is even worse, but I'd rather be in pain them dead.

Secondly, Ive been off my roxicodone for a few weeks now so my tolerance is a little lower i just took 40mg of hydrocodone and I'm feeling pretty good, but I also have 6 2mg hyrdomorphone pills I havent touched yet. can I combine the two so I wont have to take 40 mg next time, also is taking benedryl before and opiate really make it more potent or is that a myth I've read.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

I think you are fine where you are at with the ridiculous 120 15 mg Roxys, you aren't even at the maximum IR dose yet.
Hydromorphone is what hydrocodone metabolizes to into your system so yes, you can combine some hydromorphone with hydrocodone to lower your hydrocodone dose.
Benadryl does not increase analgesic efficacy but it does increase sedative and respiratory-depression qualities.

Now here's something I want to ask you: how the hell did you get that script for your abdominal pain? What is your condition? I suffer severe, debilitating abdominal pain on the daily from what's basically a medical anomaly and doctors will not prescribe me anything for it (because it's an anomaly so there's no hard evidence diagnosis) so I've been forced to go to heroin for painkilling.

That sux mate. Doctors need to realise that not everyone wants narcotics to get high, they want them for analgesia, which is still supposed to be their primary use

I never was a "pain patient" but I was addicted to opiates for three years, during which time I had several injuries and had a surgery (impacted wisdom teeth), I found for real long term chronic all day pain my preferred was oral morphine, for break through pain relief sniffing oxys

just got referred to a pain management Dr. My liver was getting destroyed from all the Percocet and norcos since the acetcmeniophen in them so he started to prescribe me the straight roxicodone. My abdominal pain has been going on for 6 years, all they found was a precancerous tumor in my galbladder so I had that removed still in pain Drs shrugged there shoulders and said go to a pain management doc. Ive been on other scripts before the roxicodone but nothing handled the pain better

Yeah, you won't get better pain relief for chronic pain than morphine IMO as well........that stuff knocks pain right out of the park.

You can have much better relief with fentanyl, Oxys. Morphine IMO is level 1. Fentanyl 10. Heroin 4.

Where would you put my Roxicodone on that scale?
Also I've tried Butrans patches those were no good, and the fentanyl patches didn't work either we tried all this before the doc tried roxicodone

IMO/IME, it lasts forever.......I can take a 15mg morphine tab at 8pm & not have to redose until 1pm the next day.......the pain relief lingers a long time.

I could never do that with Opana. Opana is very strong, but IMO, morphine lasts so long......also I don't get up sweating & needing morphine, that's ridiculous, but I did with Opana, so I won't touch Opana again.

Doctors overwhelmingly choose morphine as their gold standard for pain relief in hospitals for a reason.

I won't touch fentanyl, its way too potent & you can't control it once the patch is on.

I've seen people in the hospital on their death beds on fentanyl drip......I guess its a smooth transition for them.to leave this world.

Plus, it would destroy my tolerance, & from everything I've been told & read, there's no euphoria, just sedation.

The dose of fentanyl is in micrograms and patches lasts 3 days to dispense 25 mcg. Roxicodone, depending on the dose would be 2-3. Also how is your tolerance? I believe it's better although it lasts a bit shorter. Greater high though. As from 80-100mg .. Or 30 mg if you have low tolerance.
