Benzos for me = emotional/empathetic/compassionate. They numb everyone else?

So I'm not finding any info on this on the internet, users or research. Benzos have always drastically increased my level of emotion and feeling. Without benzos I still err on the deeper/more sensitive side of personality but benzos will amplify that a whole lot and soon I'll be speaking my mind to whoever about whatever and being much more emotionally open than usual. Shows I watch that would tap into my emotions usually do so twice as much on benzos. Apparently, for everyone else, benzos are emotionally numbing? Talk to me.

if someone said something to you that you might usually find hurtful, but your on benzos? how do you receive that when your on benzos?

of course dosage will play a role, but i have found that i am able to talk more freely on benzos because i know that i am less vulnerable and sensitive to those around me.

also i crashed into someone on benzos once and the guy was screaming at me pissed off that i hit his bumper, and i literally was not phased at all, i could not care less, i couldnt see how it was a big deal.

i have doubt that you are more empathetic on benzos, you might be more lovey and happy because you don't have anxiety on benzos, but that doesnt = actual empathy

empathy is being able to put yourself in someone else shoes, feeling the connection between you and another, i feel benzos cuts that connection and you are in your own pleasant world that nobody else can penetrate

Benzos just get of any anxiety you might have, which means you can be freely who you truly are, instead of being afraid that something might go wrong. So in this regard they allow you connect with people you would have been too shy to approach before. They also get rid of some of your inhibitions (or all of them, if you take a lot, haha), so you will actually make an effort to reach out to others.

But try MDMA if you want to feel a real empathogenic experience. On benzos, you can finally socialize with people and do things that you were too anxious to try, on MDMA, you feel truly connected with everything, every person you meet feels like they are your best friend, closest family member, or most intimate lover, depend on your ideas at the time. Plus with MDMA all anxiety just melts away anyway, even moreso than benzos, you also get really physically touchy-feely (what weed does to taste buds, ecstasy does to the sense of touch) and finally you do not lose your inhibitions like with benzos, which means you probably will just want to dance, talk, or cuddle someone for hours, not smash up a police car with a baseball bat, run naked through a nightclub while covered with chili sauce.

This is why my situation is so weird: because benzos DO increase my empathy and make me feel more connected with the world. They take me less out of my own world and more into the world in general.

I've tried just about every benzodiazpeine at some time in my life. The best is clonazepam. It's very very strong and it doesn't screw your head up. I've heard its the only benzo that has actually been indicated for long term anxiety. Second strongest I found to be bromazepam. Lorazepam is like bromazepam but without the sedative effect and at least as hard t withdraw from..Valium makes you agitated and anxious and its not so strong.Nitrazepam is strong but it makes you hungry. Oxazepam is considered weak but I quite like it. Librium is very very weak and xanax is strong but utter hell to withdraw from. Stay away. The z drugs (zopiclone and zolpidem) are not quite as difficult to withdraw from. Zopiclone tastes terrible and you can;t get rid of the taste becsuse its secreted in your saliva. Zolpidem is strong for a while I guess. Versed (midazolam) is a bit of a disappointment compared with my expectations. Don't even think of going anywhere near triazolam. The half life is so short and potency strong that you suffer withdrawal inbetween individual doses! They say nimetzazepam which is available in some south east countries is very strong but I've never had. If you have to go long term, go for klonopin (clonazepam). t will be hard to withdraw from because its very very high potency so you'll prob. have to do a valium conversion but its strong, sensible (ie. doesn't screw your head up) and keeps working longer than the others.Oh.. and a word about temazepam. I know it's very highly abused. Don't know why. It's not so strong. Take more than two and you can get a headache (and it's toxic!)Doesn't do much for muscle relaxant. oh yeah mdma makes everbody emphasize n wanna reach out for that brotherly love.

I would say that you probably have that compassionate side to you when/if you didn't use benzos but you might not know it because without the drugs you might get depressed and be a little less than compassionate. For me, I get this strange thing with opiates where i can go the whole day sick from not using and then something will happen towards the end of the night where along with being sick, I start getting super emotional and sentimental about things seemingly out of nowhere. Then I'll use and things will go back to somewhat normal.

For me benzodiazepines make me a better worker and it helps me to socialize better. I sleep better which means more quality life.
The relaxing effects back when I could still be fine with just a little also helped so I would be more patient at home.
That's why I believe it's also hard to quit them as you learn to function differently.
