Good luck with Rehab, Scotchy :)

Good luck. You're gonna need it with dr doctor Gordon and his “12 step total abstinence program" :)

So im on the way... :\

Yeah, 12 Step :\. It's not suited to me but I had no choice in the matter tbh, Im just going to take from it what I need and let the rest wash over me. I wouldn't get another opportunity to do this so ive had to take it.

Some time out, detox, no work and some self reflection is all I need. The happy clappy higher power can gtf..

Take care everyone <3

Here's hoping that SM finds this experience positive :) However, his last post doesn't sound too encouraging - it reads like he was pressured into it and feels obliged to 'perform'. This isn't a good basis for recovery at all. I personally don't know anyone who has successfully quit the gear from going to rehab - however expensive the place may be (I'm not saying that no one can do it, just that it appears to be a rare occurrence). I just hope he can find the inner strength necessary whilst inside, instead of just writing it off as a licence to print money by a bunch of quasi religious addiction 'specialists', as I would have done....

Yea I kinda agree n feel bad for him. I hope he gets something out of it. Personally I don't think he's ready to give it up but I hope I'm wrong here. I wish him all the very best with whatever happens.

Good luck fella, will be one of the hardest thing you will ever do but if you are successful you will have the opportunity to a fresh start at life with the shackles of an smack addiction. Braver man than me currently I wish you all the best mate, you will need it. Hope ya are totally ready mate as you will need to be for it to work just mentioning that because I seen you posted you where doubting that you where truly ready to talk away forever. As you will know if you aren't a 100 percent ready to walk away you will struggle. Really hope you are mate hope you can post your progress on odd time to see how you are doing , rooting and tooting, literally for you.

Heroin has a 90%+ recidivism rate, usually the highest drug annually. I don't let those numbers play on my mind. I've quit multiple times with multiple year stretches of not using. It's staying clean that's the difficult part.

Phone and laptop can be used after 1 week. No internet access though. Read the website...

What website?

Ha ha, yeh... I refrained from saying anything before now until he was firmly ensconced in 'the system'. No negativity intended, but perhaps a little realism.

Yea. I E-mailed him my thoughts a few months back but as you say it's best to try n be positive so just wished him luck. I really hope I'm wrong about him not being ready n that I'm just being negaitive. Scotchy is a good person n deserves a happy life. I kinda have to be careful with what i write here as people's opinions / feelings on words / phraises etc differ n I don't wish to offend anyone.

When you're ready to quit gear, you quit gear. Chucking loads of dosh at rehabs is not the way to do it (IMHO). If you're ready, you don't need rehab. I may be wrong, and sincerely hope I am for SMs sake as he seems like a lovely feller...

I wholeheartedly agree with this, it's something you just do when you are ready to, I don't think it would work for me if I wasn't ready for it, I really do hope this works for SM though, best of luck mate! :)
