Powered alcohol

Whoa there, rewind...

powdered alcohol is a real thing. it's ethyl alcohol absorbed into cyclodextrins (basically starches). When mixed with water the alcohol gets released from the starch carrier.

Snorting it would be like snorting pure rubbing alcohol... your sinuses would be very clean...

My bad sekio. I knew I remembered you talking about this a while back. About its physiological effects specifically but I couldn't find it.

Apologies for closing the thread. I'm going to move this now.

Quick way to get there, and relief from sinuses. I wonder what it would be equivalent to..

This is the most retarded thing I've ever read. While you're at it, why not grind some weed up and snort a line of that?
First of all, 1 unit of alcohol = 8 GRAMS (10ml). How the HELL do you expect to be able to get enough powder up your nose to feel anything other than searing pain... which brings me to my second point: Snorting a powder that turns into pure ethanol on contact with water. You do realize that Everclear (pure drinking alcohol) can damage your stomach and oesophagus if you drink it straight? Why the hell would you want that stuff in your nose?
And thirdly: seriously: why the hell would you want to snort it anyway? When you drink alcohol you can feel its effects in less than a minute - I really don't see why you would want to consume alcohol any other way other than orally.

Its just alcohol absorbed by a substrate so I think the amount of powder it takes to get drunk is just inconvenient. This is simply a novelty idea that will make someone a decent chunk of change because of its uniqueness. I think once the drinking population rediscovers the flask (for those who havent) as the most easy, convenient, and acceptable way to be a drunk this product will fall by the wayside quickly.

The powdered alcohol is about to come out where I am. Or maybe it has already and I just live under a rock lol. Last time I paid any attention to it feds were trying to prevent it from even hitting the market. People trying to snort it has been one of their points of argument. I don't think there will be any success in preventing it from being sold, but imo trying to snort it is not a good idea at all.

Putting the powder into capsules would be much better IMO. Seems like it would be similar to popping some Xanax. Easier to sneak capsules around then a flask, say if you're going to a sporting event or something and want to get wasted.

Yea. They are in a plastic pouch. Kind of look like tampons actually. In advertising they've been touted as easy to carry and take to places. I can see why vendors would be worried about people sneaking them in, say, to a game or show indoors.
