Is a death related to meth the same thing as being caused by meth in a single dose tho? Or is it that you're addicted to meth for years, not eating, not exercising, never washing, taking every other drug you can find before keeling over in a state of complete disrepair?
Iirc, doves were around late 80s/early 90s. Then the quality of pills took a downward turn for a few years until the mitzi's arrived around 97/98. Mixmag hailed them as the saviour of dance music..
s and the cally sunshines etc. .

The point I was getting at (without going into too much detail.and making a massive long post) was that oedema is a symptom of CHF which can be brought on by stimulant use.
You have me on ignore these days don't you.![]()
I've gotten the severely swollen ankle thing numerous times - especially on peev runs. When I was taken into the psychiatric unit that last time I was given... dunno what they call it but is a simple score based on various measurments of pulse, blood pressure, heart rate and so forth. Apparently mine was the highest they'd ever seen outside of training. They didn't tell me this at the time as I was psychotic so they (correctly) assumed this knowledge would have worsened my condition. They did tell me several days later though and was quite the wake-up call.
It's easy to take certain signs and symptoms of stim abuse as being all par for the course - especially after decades of heavy abuse - but something more concrete and specific does bring into focus that although it's unlikely most people will acutely overdose (unless they go bombing 2g wraps of random "speed" hoping to find actual amphetamines in there somewhere) a great many longterm users will end up causing both acute and chronic damage cumulatively over time. It sneaks up on you and rarely feels like there is anything wrong subjectively but objectively you're on the verge of a heart attack several times over daily when heavily abusing stims.
Yeah exactly...the dangers from stims is far more insidious and cumulative than with opiates which are pretty safe and non toxic in the long term....(but obviously deadly in overdose) with stims it's almost the opposite in that the dangers of OD aren't as great but the dangers of chronic use are far, far greater.
The obs score you mentioned is called a MEWS (medical early warning score) in which certain baseline obs -systolic BP, heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature and measure of consciousness (usually AVPU but sometimes GCS)are used to predict the onset of some problem before it happens by taking the sum of various observations and allocating a score then tracking this number.
Istims with all my
but have to agree with this.
That does indeed ring a bell with me. I don't recall the actual score but I do recall the number of staff who came to "observe" and the look on the consultant's face when he explained it to me (in private).
Well I swallowed 3 rice sized "shards" of meth about 20 mins ago and am raring to do some housework. Hopefully it won't degenerate into 5 hours solid masturbation.
Not wanting to be a wet blanket or anything but with more and more folk having access to meth these days I thought a few sobering stories from our American cousins about meth psychosis stories might make good bedtime reading....
