Squirreled ;)

My bodge repair to my little rucksack -- executed by hand, in cross-stitch (I'd have used a wide zig-zag, if only it had fit under the presser foot of my sewing machine), which got neater as I went along but to be fair it is the first time I've done cross-stitch since school -- held up! That's got to be a snoo.

No picture, as black cotton doesn't show up against a black background. But I'll be satisfied if it lasts long enough for me to source a replacement.

I think today's Snoo is one for Felix ..... Basically, I almost pulled off replacing both disks in a RAID-1 array on a running server, without rebooting.

I say "almost" because in the event, I did have to power it down; although if I had followed my own instructions properly, I wouldn't have had to. And I have certainly learned some interesting stuff about Linux, which is the real snoo here. That, and the day off which I plan to spend with Jess.

Blog Post Here, for the terminally curious.

fifimurphycat are you going to skin and gut it then portion it yourself? Are you not supposed to hang it up for a week or so in a cool dry place like a garage to dis-encourage the maggots?

I'm very fond of vension, makes for a great stew and burgers :)
Keep the skin on and hang it in the bathroom over the bath for week to 10 days :) once hung then skin it and butcher it it might hang a bit longer depending on how my ribs are but oh will be home by then and he will help

Should you no skin it first? Take it you've got the guts and innards out?

yip thats all out but leaving the skin on stops the outer getting hard and keeping the plug in the bath for the blood to stay in so maggots etc go there instead

Sound's like you have it all organised! Exciting stuff - any chance of pics of the process? I like that kinda thang :D and vension!

You're bathroom must be some sight =D

my bathroom is frequently some sight lol but my shed was a doozy several years ago when snowdrop was hung got a local butcher to do it my friends wee boy was hysterical when he found out he was eating snowdrop but the meat was so tender I think he hated himself more for enjoying it hahahaha how do I put piccies up?

I remember B9 used to be fond of the aul' roadside deer. I dunno if the kids were happy when they found the thing in their bathroom.

Never really liked the look of Venison:

Dodgy as fuck.

Just realised that today (or near as dammit) marks two years away from stimulants and psychedelics. Two whole years.

I do regret not being able to go on a trippy adventure, and I miss the stims a lot too. I hate the way they complicated my illness though, and I hate the way psychedelics turned on me. It's a small victory, but one which has turned things around for me.

Alright, so I have less 'fun', but I actually find myself having more fun.

Hah, sounds good, but way above my techie credentials. The only time I lay hands on any RAID devices is with my home NAS, which is always elegantly powered down before I touch her, which isn't often. The only time I remove those disks is when I'm giving it a dust out or if we're going on a long holiday, with one mirrored disk stored safely away from the other. :)

Interesting blog, ta for sharing.

My snoo today was seeing panda make some awesome jewellery things with clay and beads, seeing the creativity was snoo <3
