Chance of getting diamorphine on script? How much better for pain relief?

In my experience it's only used to describe time release tablets. You don't see a lot of ir morphine tabs in this country anyway because they tend to go for oramorph instead.

Does your doctor know you have a drink problem? Because if he does he's very irresponsible giving you codeine/paracetamol.

Drink problem? I'm a less than a social drinker to be honest, in the other thread I had been drinking 2ltr of cider a night for a week or so, equivilant to 3.5 pints I think? Not exactly excessive then on pancake day I bought a litre of vodka and some coke ended up drinking the whole thing and throwing up. It's really not a drink problem I bought 4 cans to celebrate quitting my job last night.

I know it's all HR but because of that thread and one where I was considering trying heroin (untill I heeded the advice n decided not to) I've probably made myself out to sound like a real mess! Now this thread wanting script morphine or stronger... Haha if you all knew me you'd realise I'm probably nothing like what you have perceived ?

The big deal with diamorphine (aka heroin) is when smoked and - especially - injected and I seriously doubt you're gonna be scripted diamorphine amps. It's very heavily controlled and only used in a vanishingly small number of instances. I can't really see any doctor prescribing it for pain relief.

It does work well as a painkiller but it's also extremely euphoric and extremely moreish (you may have heard that smack is somewhat recreational and can be kinda tricky to say no to once said yes to). To be honest, morphine would probably be a better option anyway purely for pain relief purposes.

I agree. Actually, the few seconds process that converts diamorphine into morphine is the rush most people refer.

Well.... Aren't you a bell end! If you actually read through the posts instead of trying to hitch a ride on the banter bus you would of seen it's a new doctor I signed up with Thursday who doesn't have my notes from previous doctor SO he is only going off what I can tell him. I'm booked in for 2 weeks when my notes are there and then we can discuss the options more seriously. But he offered me MST instead I agreed to co-codamol.

He offered you morphine, but you declined as you thought 30/500 co-codomols were a better deal? You do know that 600mg-per-bottle codeine linctus is still about £3 per bottle, right? Could have taken the morphine and sourced your own codeine for the breakthrough pain. Or just chewed up the MSTs.

Seems odd.

Not really, I told him I don't want anything slow release. So if I accepted MST then he is going to question what I want them for I wanted scripting something strong and IR. Have you read through all the posts? When he gets my notes through I could very easily get anything I was scripted before but I dont want that.
Furthermore I didn't think co-codamol is a better deal at all! BUT I need to gain his trust saying, I definitely don't want any slow release and then accepting them is contradicting myself

With saying this, I'm thinking of the UK n am not sure where you're from, along with the prescribing laws. I know that in the UK it's getting more difficult for people to be prescribed even codeine due to addictions etc. so I guess what they give you depends on
- country prescribing laws
- your condition n what your pain is
- history of drug (ab)use etc

Oh, diamorphine has addictive potential? Thanks for sharing your unique and valuable insight into the subject, I for one never realised diamorphine had addictive potential. I wonder why this isn't common knowledge? Did anyone else know diamorphine had addictive potential or, more likely, are you shedding the light on this topic for the first time for most of us here?
 
Diamorphine (Apparently 10mg tablets are available on the NHS!) is stronger than morphine orally even though some of the dia' is converted into morphine some of the 6-Mono-Acetyl-Morphine (The strongest active metabolite of Diamorphine) does get to the brain!

He could always plug or micron-filter and Cold water extract the Diamorphine and snort it.

A few chemists will still sell it OTC, as long as you don't look like a druggie. I bought some last week.

Man I have a repeated history of opiate abuse, benzo diazepine abuse, maintainance therapy on both, drug skeeing behaviour all on my medical records in big flashing letters and even I can walk away with DFs.

You got to have the patter man, I got an out of hours doctor in London (so literally I've walked off the street and met someone for the first time) to script me this once:

She wrote that shit right out even though she had never met me, had none of my records, and I even blundered and said I was scripted alprazolam 1mg which have been discontinued in this country. She just wrote out the same in 500mcg. Mad rush trying to get around London late night to fill the scripts.

If you have the right doctor and you know how to the play the game you can make clever people do silly things. Image is everything.
