Gibberings CLXXXVI - Social Internet Chatting Since 1998

Keep going, Kota.
I, too, am studying in the STEM field - fortunately, within the field I know of many whom detest the 'written exam only' method.
In Science, it is a great mind, not a list of letters and numbers, that succeeds.

I cannae play it, but yeah I know it.

It's strange that I have a tele and a strat but no longer own a pedal of any description.

Nice, how long have you been playing? Love teles and strats

Just done a lil covery thing. gonna record it properly tomorrow

Got a nice tone there!

I've been playing for about 14 years. You'd think that after 14 years I'd be spanking but I'm not. I was listening to really simple music when I started which was basically bar chords and 'solos' which copy the melody of the vocal haha (Nirvana).

I usually only play acoustic now but when I was around at my mate's house the other night, he had his 7-string plugged up to some program on his laptop which gave you all the different effects. It was really good craic so I'm thinking of setting myself up with it.

What about yourself?

Wicked, on and off 10 years myself, on a strat and shitey cheap les paul copy thing

I never did like Les Pauls. I used to have an SG copy which played quite well but the humbuckers were no good. Strats are good ol' faithful for me. They have a real good range on them. I just bought the tele for playing country. I didn't shell out for a fender but got the squire from the affinity series and it's an excellent guitar for the price. I will probably replace the pick ups at some stage though, as it's the only thing that's holding it back slightly.

I rarely sit down on my own and play anymore so I need something to give me the drive to do it. I play regularly with mates though.

Know what you mean, the humbuckers on mine are bollocks as well. Yea same here on the faithful strats, they look so boring but i love the neck pickup tone. Started off with a tele when i was 14 and sold it a few years later, wouldnt mind getting one again

Yeah, I wouldn't like a tele to be my only guitar because there's a lot of stuff I can't do with it. There's lots of different pick up arrangements for them though that turn them into really versatile beasts.

I also usually have my selector to the neck on my strat.

On a less musical note, I'm being bombarded with non-reciprocated texts out-of-the-blue from an old partner. Now it's private number calls.

I'm guessing there will be no giving up until I change my number :!

Yeah, I've asked her to stop many times. It's not a case of me childishly ignoring her (although I suppose it is still childish to ignore her). It's just that it's been going on for quite a wee while now. I'll get some peace for a month or two and then it will start again. She's even contacting my parents, which really isn't on.

I don't have an iPhone, it's a Samsung. I've looked it up and I think I would need to actually contact O2 to get the number blocked. She keeps saying that she's deleted my number and everything with my number on it but then she pops up again. I do feel bad because she's obviously in some sort of distress but there's nothing I can do to help her except maybe say ''yes'' all the time. However, I don't think this would help anything. I also feel bad because she has a boyfriend who seems like a really nice guy but I don't think it's my place to tell him. Telling him might actually be the right thing to do but, in this situation, it usually results in the assumption that you're a lying, jealous ex who's trying to drive them apart.

I don't have any recordings of my music, I'm afraid :\

What I do with EE is manipulate them, which aint difficult as they're **** as *** ***** planks.

I phone them up, tell them I'm being harrassed. Lay it on right thick. Then they say ok no fee we change number now. I've done it about 5 times in the past year.

Your problem will be sorted ;)

Evey

I just don't want to change my number, that's all. I don't want to be forced to go through that inconvenience (despite the already present inconvenience of the harassment).

I guess I'll just give O2 a ring and see what can be done!

Cheers, Evey, but my model doesn't have that feature :(

I did a bit more digging and I think I'll need to download an app of some kind (isn't that always the way, these days? 8)).

"There's an app for that!

....and that!

....and THAT

....oh n this n thst n t'other.

Sorry. Couldn't resist that. It's a shame ye don't have iPhone. Ye can block texts n calls. I do it when i fall out with people so i don't end up saying stuff I can't take back if they contact me. It's my way of showing them love ;)

---------

Hopefully ye can find the spp n it'll be sorted. Sorry i couldn't help further.

Evey
