Gibberings CLXXXVI - Social Internet Chatting Since 1998

I am aware of online text often being misinterpreted, given the lack of contextualisation allows ambiguity limited only by imagination.

However, my statement was not in jest; self-image is a particular issue of mine, thus I never truly know the 'appropriate' reaction to a perceived compliment. The self-preserving cynic in me reads/hears only the potential negative undertones in conversation.

Basically, the sudden influx of positive comments has the words 'taking the piss' floating around my mind.

Ah I can relate Sprout. The words 'taking the piss' well up from a reservoir of low self esteem (imo) which is probably filled by the negative words we speak out loud about ourselves or the acceptance we have of hateful words others may have said during our lifetime. I think to cleanse that we can choose to speak loving/positive Words about ourselves and others and choose to look at the thing that is said in a positive way. Also take the risk to trust that the person speaking is being honest.

If they're not that is not for us to judge.. but hate/bitterness et al and the weed like words that stem from them always have consequences.

Words are more powerful than most know. We can choose to speak blessings or curses.

'To the pure all things are pure' ..Eldorado... must be like an Evian Mind. :D

Does that lot make sense?

Gawd, I don't even know if thats a euphemism. sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not like that Sadie!
I meant that I would enjoy chocolate, for instance. We often have small thin mint chocolate with coffee in working meetings. To make it more informal and also to smooth down the stress, I guess. Why did you say it sad?

all is fine. not perfect, but fine.
these days im learning to worry less and try to enjoy good things as they come along.

currently waiting for the shops to open. got to go buy some ingredients and cook something.

then its coffee with friends

and you?

Ahh, payday. That beautiful day where, for all of 5 minutes, you actually feel rich.

Off to volunteering in a bit only serving tea n coffee in a court cafe - n then to recovery group. Clashes slightly but go for last hour. It's quite a big group, dont usually like a lot of people but it's ok on subs cause subs makes me talk to Wales.

I'm dead quiet without subs, feeling uncomfortable.
Last week the PM came, I forgot my subs, n i felt uncomfortable I ran out for sheer life. I was worried i'd piss them off but the lady was dead nice n said I had n can still go to the groups. We have a women recovery group tomorrow, which is nice.

^^^^^hahahahaha funny aint ye ;)

Na it's addiction recovery group for women. I basically go there n listen to them all lol.

Nice though cause we all went on trips Christmas time. I thought I'd have a miseable Christmas this year but wasn't bad. Was asked for coffee n places out. Was strange but nice. It's nice to be included.

Starting to wonder if I did right coming back here, things have changed so much n feeling a bit upset about things at mo :(
Just want things how they used to :(
Everythingthing's changed in 3 months :(

Eveyi

I imagine it does. I was out for the holidays. Stayed off for a couple of weeks. Nothing really changes, just lots of new names, different topics. Also very different when I compare to May ..

Good morning. I officially started looking for a new job again. Damn I hate this endless cycle.

Took my lorazepam at 7 am instead of last night, feel well slow now.

Will hit the shops in a bit, need to buy food.

The weather is picking up, it's cold(3/4 degrees C) but sunny and the air is crispy.

Getting a bit fed up of my 'lodgers'...i'm tolerating the invasion of 'my' space but I was just pondering..yer know I can't even pick my nose in peace?

I've also got to decorate/sort house out.. a bloke down the road has offered to paint my cielings for..A TENNER.. He's slightly special needs but methodical with diy stuff.

Should I take advantage lol?

Getting my teeth fixed later so looking forward to decorating a few rooms with a smile again.

Have a word with them. Politely ask them to give you space. Maybe they could spend more time in their room or something? If you're polite they should be understanding.

Haven't posted in here for a while (nothing personal to anyone don't worry, just been unusually busy recently and haven't had as much time or energy as I'd like to contribute properly) but decided to break this trend to big up Wenlock for this, even a small gesture can really help people in need and doing so deserves recognition. Good on you mate. Hang in there 5Star, it's easier said than done when you're going through such hard times, but things can and hopefully will get better for you, there are plenty of people on here coming with fantastic suggestions and help, which is one of the great things about Bluelight, it's not always perfect but when it comes together it can really make a positive difference to people's lives. We don't know each other so might be a bit weird for you but my PM box is always open as well if you need to talk about anything, had a few issues with benzo addiction and rehab myself so might be able to help, no worries if not though :)

Also welcome back Evey hope you're well :)
