Gibberings CLXXXV - Say te'ra and tip your hat for Chat is leaving staff :( <3

is there such a thing in mythology as a fire breathing owl? There was one in my imagination..*puts on asbestos gloves and puts the fire breathing owl outside on a tree*

All I can think of is the Cailleach (which incidentally means 'old hag'), who is the queen of winter, and manifests as an owl.

She doesn't breathe fire, but she's due to come out and gather her firewood in just another couple of weeks, on St Brigid's Day. Brigid being her adversary, the queen of summer.

Morning.. Praying for newness today. Original experiences and conversations.

I thought the owl reference in Hebrew was Lilith referring to a desert owl... That's what I thought was the bibles take on Lil. One verse anyway.. there are other kinder references to Lillies.

Lilith the screech-owl, aye. We used to have some fun together. <3

You said 'mythology'. I thought you believed in the Bible? :)

And I don't think 'Lilith' and the Hebrew word for 'lily' ('shoshan') were in any way etymologically connected. In fact, the modern name derived from the Hebrew word for 'lily' is Susannah.

maybe you need to have a good old cry for some reason Sadie. <3 to u.

Yeah to Susannah lol.. I remember reading that somewhere... Sam that fire breathing owl was something that my imagination conjured up I didn't think of anything particularly biblical. Any way its out on a tree now..hopefully not breathing on the native squirrels and such.

I only ever wanted a child - a daughter - for a short period, just so I could call her Lilith Jezebel.

Of course, I'd have been happy for her mother to look after her on the condition that she wore black, rarely ever saw the sun and cultivated a gloomy disposition.

After a while I realised that was pretty much tantamount to child abuse. I would have adored her though.

There better be, a fire breathing owl sounds awesome

Lovely night with codeine, weed, beer and takeaway, cannot be fucking arsed to get up and clean the kitchen now but we're going away tomorrow and fuck coming back to a shit hole.

Hugs to Sadie also <3

Sammy I met a girl recently who swore she was named Jezebel and had a brother called Dante!

Wow! Could you get me her number, do you think? ;)

Only if she's cute though, obv.

If you happen to see a girl/woman in about an hour, in a provincial town high street blubbering and chain smoking, flicking blues down her neck- that will be me..gis a hug and get yer stash out..meet you in the bus station loos in an fifteen.

<3

You're on. Those are the type of women I keep an eye out for anyhow.

I was going to call my son Elijah funnily enough Samuel ( I was more on his side).

Calling a child jezebel would be tantamount to child abuse actually...bit like calling her prostitute or witch.

Dya know I think I heard someone calling for her child called...Nivea the other day?

Hiya snolls. Yep a fire breathing owl its out there now guarding the front gate against people (or an unusual person) from setting fire to me, boiling me in a lobster pot eternally, putting me in a spin cycle etrernally, throwing me in the sea to great white sharks and great big bloody mermaids... not to mention some geezer/lass who wants to humiliate me in every way imaginable making vieled threats to share private stuff with the world and his wife... so that's cool. :)

Could be Nidia?

Jezebel is a lovely name, as is Lilith. They'd both be in my top ten names if I were a girl, although my female persona ended up being christened 'Coco'. But yes, I can imagine a few people (myself included) might kick up a fuss if I were to have children full stop, let alone call them Jezebel. Does it make her a prostitute though? No.

I could have called her Hecate or Sappho. Would that do?

Actually the latter is reserved for someone I used to know, come to think of it.

I think you misunderstood me there Sam. I said its like calling her Prostitute or Witch eg name not actions.

People do call loose women Jezebels... I don't know if that name is redeemable. I'd have to have a read up of its meaning.
