The Awesome Pentagram or "Star"

I'm not concerned about you guessing that Bjork is of a particular spiritual persuasion.
The strange thing is the hand stuff. It screams psychosis, which I have suffered from.

You believe that an Icelandic celebrity is communicating something - through mass media - with hand signals.
Yet, you can't explain what she is communicating or how she is communicating it.

I, honestly, don't mean any offense... but I'm a little concerned about you.
Obsessive numerological interpretations are a warning sign.
You're seeing patterns that aren't there.

I know it really seems like they're there.
It's real to you: that's a huge part of psychosis.

If you're taking drugs, I think you need to cut down.
If not, you should consider - in my opinion - seeking professional help.

Noooo...it's just that the out-stretched palm can be used as a symbol of a star or the five-fold path, and often is in that scene. And she's obviously holding it up as to say "Look, I'm a witch/wiccan/practitioner of witchcraft", whatever she means by that. She was photographed by a stone saying "Nature is my church", for God's sake. i.e. nature religion. Only pagans say that so it's not THAT much of a stretch.

But I'm really losing interest in this. I've read Gardner, I've read Sanders, I've read Croweley, and countless others inspired by the same. And eventually you just start to get sick of reading the same thing over and over and over again, just like you would of any other religion. It's entertaining at first, but not so impressive when you start seeing through it.

I've been exposed to more of this crap than Christianity. Anyway, you're reading your psychosis into me.

And if you think I'm crazy you should listen to John Todd/Bill Schnobelen who knows much more about this kind of thing. That will show you crazy. Though he exposes the evil side of it well.

Of course it wasn't the HAND that convinced me. That was just an interesting detail I thought I'd point out but now I wish I never had. That post is becoming the bane of my life.

In a lot of the photos you posted, her palms weren't outstretched.
They were in all sorts of different positions.

And, even if they were outstretched, aren't there photos of every high-profile celebrity with outstretched palms?

But I'm really losing interest in this.

You're losing interest in what: the subject of this thread; Wicca; or, imaginary hand symbols?

I think I got it, that's what I meant by annoying.

It was too Russian. "When eveyone gives everything then everyone everything will get"

Hugely O/T, but Laibach are Slovenian and were singing in German. They are (I think) parodying totalitarianism, but I just think its a silly and light hearted song that might have broken the tension amidst finger symbols and psychiatric diagnoses.

Now I have to post the fucking original version :p =D

NSFW:

No, I've heard the original, it's an ancient popsong. The other version was actually cool in comparison.

To be fair you'd expect such simple shapes to be fairly common, statistically. Same with three sided shapes.

I'll start paying more attention when 523 sided shapes start popping up all over the place.

There were sure a lot of pentagram signs on the magical version of Celebrity Big Brother last night.

But didn't anyone catch HOW high the presenter was? I was suprised she could stand, they couldn't even do close-ups on her. But I suppose this is what it takes for TV presenters.

Who's psychotic here? Not me.

^Is that you?

(what the fuck is happening in those pics anyway?)

Really?

I wonder if the four other viewers noticed this veiled occultism. ;)

FWIW, I don't think you are psychotic and I thought the suggestion was actually pretty rude, but I think you may have too big of an imagination. Given the fact that our world no longer burns witches alive, why would anyone resort to the ambiguity of hand signs to convey their beliefs? I can see no reason why Bjork wouldn't just admit to this, were it real. Given her non-admission, I wonder if this whole thing is fictitious...? Hmm.

false edit: Even the catholic church is doing this now!

I didn't say she was psychotic. I said she was experiencing some sort of psychosis.
It wasn't rude. I've suffered from psychosis. This is a harm reduction drug forum.
Psychosis is not an insult and it shouldn't be treated as such.

If I offended you, dude, I'm sorry.
I was only trying to help.

...

Those photos are hilarious, Ninae.

what the fuck is happening in those pics anyway?

I assumed it was a tongue-in-cheek joke / reference to the Bjork photos & the suggestion of psychosis.
