I have noticed the past few days, my face has acne all over, probably about 9-10 zits...Im 40 yrs old and never had a problem with this before, even when I was a pre-teen. I noticed yesterday, it seems to flare up after a heavy use kind of day.

Anyone else notice this? I guess it could be something the dope is cut with, but who knows.

Wash your hands.

Seriously. You are touching/itching your face with your hands a lot more than usual even in your sleep when you don't realize you are. Trust me though, just wash your hands every hour or two, especially before bed. That was a cure for me.

i get it on my back, not my face, so in my case not my hands

You probably scratch your back, I know I do.

Even if not, to be honest, I don't think it is the hands, but if that were to be the culprit...you see my point.

There aren't too many areas I don't itch(yeah that too), but, anyway, yeah...

Ya that was a problem for me on any opiate and it was really just because of the scratching.

As pinpoint said washing your hands and being more conscious of your itching would IMO aid you greatly.
Nonetheless it's a bitch, just be grateful you didn't ever have acne in highschool you lucky bastard.

Wear mittens and when you want to itch, you are well protected by your mittens.

Plus when you're high on opiates/opioids, nothing better then a nice pair of mittens....not to mention if you have kitten, consider yourself smitten.

The only spot I get really itchy when on dope is my feet and lower legs, around my ankles especially, I have scars all over my feet from itching until they bleed.

Got a good laugh out of that, but hey it's not a bad idea...i'm gonna acquire me some nice mittens for around the house, thinking merino wool?

I broke out when on dope. I don't know… I didn't touch my face much. I scratched my legs up and chest up bad though. Scratching until I ripped my skin open o.o felt so good D:

I'm acne prone so any opiate will cause me to break out but H is the worst.

I am stunned that nobody has mentioned this...
DEHYDRATION
When you're using opiates/h you often get dry mouth + you might loose your appetite (I actually have a voracious appetite on appetites <-- go figure)

Also, in regard to the appetite component, if you're one of the people who don't eat much (most of my friends who are IV users can go a whole day and have no interest in food while they're using) think about all the nutrients your body is missing out on. Those same nutrients will obviously aid in cell regeneration (which is how acne clears/the pores being unclogged/reduction in sebum/oil production). Just sayin.

Yeah, the itching of the face/other areas will definitely cause acne flare ups.
I know when I'm on a binge (currently am.. .25g-.5g of powder per day) that my skin gets a tad blotchy. I don't itch my face much, but that theory sounds plausible and the folks who have previously posted have provided their anecdotal evidence to this theory..

Another factor is that when you're on opiates (or any CNS depressant of any kind) you're body is literally being slowed down. I suppose it is possible that things simply wouldn't heal as quickly because your whole body is slowed down. This is just mere speculation though..
