the bl maps forums are offocially linked with maps and are staffed by maps staff, among others.

bl donations are processed by maps on behalf of bl minus a small admin fee.

^can you give me a little more incite on how the merge happened with MAPS forums?

we've long had contact with the people at maps but our formal connection had been light for the most part. the site ownership worked on helping maps host their forums here at bl (because that's something we know how to manage) and they helped us out by processing our donations (because that's something they know how to manage).
