Why do we bother having actual people to enforce those rules? Why do we differentiate between warnings and infractions? Why involve any form of thought whatsoever when it's all so very simple?

I dunno why do you? Why is the same action worthy of punishment at some points and not others? Why bother having rules if they're not going to be enforced? Why not just have mods and give them them absolute power if you're going to say they don't need to bother with the rules that have been decided on?

Same reason plod may issue a caution to one person and prosecute another for the same crime - there tends to be context to people and events in the real world. If you object to the job description please feel free to start a campaign in Support.
 
it is a good version isn't it!!!! As shite as his accent is though I really like Ray Wintston. He's a good actor IMO. I like most movies he's in.
 
Yeah I think he's a really good actor, too. I can't do a Boston accent and it doesn't give too much background information about Mr French in the film. Who's to say he didn't pop over the pond from East London at some point? :p

Lol no I think I'll live. The police are not meant to put their own interpretation on the penal coode btw, they are an instrument for enforcing the law. Any variation in context is supposed to be explored in a court of law.

Ah, it makes sense now. I saw you saying that you were Texan in the food thread but, when I last frequented this place, you were associated with a certain prominent Geordie member. I thought you were British. I haven't spoken to him in about four years; does he still post?

That simply is not true. Tut tut. Back to law school with you, Owain.

But, to continue the vaguely relevant analogy, all mod decisions are open to discussion and debate in more than one area of the staff forums. If any staff member is enforcing (or not enforcing) the rules in an especially creative manner it will be noticed. We are not automatons, we make decisions, that is what the job entails whether you think it should or not.

Hah, those few months with etiz made me forget a lot of things.

It's annoying because I used to talk to him on MSN and I can't even mind who he is lol. I have got him mixed up with EVAD in my head.
