That's a very, very Scottish first gig. :D

I'm listening to a load of fucking ancient (and faux-ancient) folk ballads which seem to feature recurring themes of drink, death, hard work, hard luck, highwaymen (lots of highwaymen), rakish men with black hair and girls, usually with white stockings and green eyes.

I wish I were in that world.

I've been listening to Isla Cameron, Peg & Bobby, and the Clancys.

I'm not gonna name the other singer, as you'd be able to make a connection between the two of them and find out the embarrassingly-titled album they collaborated on, which I love to death.

Isla Cameron was really something.

Good call on Kate Bush.
