Opioids prescribed too much subutex

So I started subutex about a week ago and was prescribed 24 mg a day of which I only ever took about 2 mgs for the first 3 days and have been maintaining on .5 mgs since and feel great , my dilemma is should I tell doc about this?..he thinks I am on the 24 mg per day and keeps prescrbing accordingly
 
I am leaning toward telling him that those amounts are sooooo excessive but why would a psychiatrist with 15+ Years of schooling even consider the wisdom of an addict..lol!!

As far as spirituality, not really my thing..I have never seen a sign that would damn or save my soul forever but hey!
 
Spirituality and religion are completely different. Spirituality is all about being a good person, religion is following rules. In a nutshell. I'd tell him, you asked ya know!
 
My fear of telling is he boots me for not following his orders....no amount of money or knowledge can make me put 24 mgs of bupe in my body...sounds silly to say since I had no problem loading up on 250+ mgs of oxy!!!!

I appreciate your feedback mod...no disrespect meant with the spiritual thing.

The right thing to do is to tell him, but honestly, I wouldn't do that. I would keep doing what you are doing; keeping the extras as long as it isn't costing you more money, and your insurance covers it. Who knows, like CfZrx said, you might be able to help another addict. You might find yourself in a situation where you need them and you will be very happy that you have them!!
I take it that you were coming off of Oxy, can I ask how you went about your induction to subutex? Was it an easy switch? How long did you wait between your last oxy and the subtext?

None taken homie! You'll figure out the right thing to do for you. What's right for one isn't necessarily right for everyone!
 
You could just keep a "fun-stash" for when you get off it... I am not sure what most people think of subs for recreational purposes but I know people love it for partying and shit. Beats me, people sell those strips for a hard dollar around here..

I waited about 16 hours, I basically dosed my oxy before bed, slept as late as I could then woke up and waited till I broke out into a couple sweats then took 1 mg and an hour later took another mg and felt ok....the first three days were kinda shitty (sweating episodes, some heart racing episodes) but I slept fine...after the third day I felt great and have been at .5 mg since

Meh, I get no pleasure from them...and I have subutex tablets...not suboxone strips

Bupe sells. But frankly, I'd keep them around to help out others who can't go to doctors to get scripts for whatever reason and want to get clean.
 
Well, a lot of people don't have insurance (in the US) or can't find a doctor to prescribe suboxone since you have to take a ten hour class to prescribe it. So getting that much extra is really rare and I feel like it could help a lot of people... When I was in it hardcore our "group" had one girl who got the script and she helped out the rest of us.
