Up until an embarrassingly recent time, I used to think hegemony was pronounced "hedge - i - moany". I have still to use the word in conversation out loud, so I got away with it. :D

We are the People! guinea pigs! True that. And pretty mental when you really think about it... I'd rather beta test a chemical than an operating system. 8(
 
It comes down to education, if you understand drug pharmacology and can act in a resposible manner then yeah maybe it is ok, but people who blindy fire drugs into their system based on what theyve seen on the internet, or heard from friends or otherwise whatever leads them to do it are the ones that get into difficulty. It;s partiicuklarly more dangerous now there are benzos and opiate analogues on the market. The legal benzos im sure are causing a lot of problems for individuals aswell as the health services.
 
Don't get me wrong, I łoved MXE. I think research into therapeutic applications would be great.
 
I just read something that said those class of drugs aren't suitable for psychotherapeutic purposes; quote from someone in the know:

pfff, coz naturally a drug is useless as a medicine if it can be abused....:P

Huh, I disagree. I feel that, with the less manic ones' mood-lifting afterglow (ime), they could have potential as at least a short-term treatment for depression. I'm talking low, low doses.
 
The above mirrors my minor excursion into trying daily use of MXE for depression, I used 20-60mg day of a couple of weeks or so, not long enough for me to make a genuine self assessment of any positive or negative effects but I didn't feel it was making my mental health worse.

I did start to get a sense that this had the potential to fairly quickly turn into a drug abuse problem, in retrospect at about the same level as the prescribed pain killers I've subsequently had to use.

I wouldn't try and self medicate with them again but YMMV

Because he's a fucking idiot.

I wasn't so much that he didn't understand dimensions; he just couldn't accept that a piece of tubular steel that's 9m tall might need to be wider in diameter than one which is 6m high, in order to remain stable.

I bet you're so disappointed now I've told you. :D
